Our youngsters seem to struggle in this compared to other English teams. Seem to lose most matches. Besides Ibe, Sinclair and possibly McClaughlin, most of the youngsters we have who have a shot of making it to the first team already have and this means those left in the u18s and u21s struggle against the better teams.
The lack of decent information on this game is quite annoying. One mention from the official club website in the run-up to this game and no updates from the club via Twitter or any other social media since it kicked off. I have found a text commentary for the game... From William Hill! It's not very in-depth if we're being honest. Here is the link: http://sports.williamhill.com/bet/e...Borussia-Dortmund-U19-v-Liverpool-FC-U19.html
By the way, it has reached half-time. Liverpool one goal down after a penalty in the 30th minute from Nothangel. A bit of work for the lads to do in the second half.
Liverpool enjoying a good passage of play. Having most of the possession (57% to 43%) and have had some dangerous attacks. Dortmund defending those attacks though and it's still 1-0 to Dortmund. 60 minutes into the game.
Both those scores are wrong! 66 minutes in and Liverpool have got a goal. Not got the scorer yet but will update this thread when I have the scorer confirmed. It is now Borussia Dortmund 1-1 Liverpool.
I expect more from you Chris. Anymore mistakes and you're fired from making the match threads. but good 1-1
Damn. 79th minute and Dortmund re-take the lead. 10 minutes left for Liverpool to get a goal or we are in big trouble. Borussia Dortmund 2-1 Liverpool.
Liverpool pressing hard in these last few minutes. Still time for us to get something out of this game.
Full-Time: Borussia Dortmund Under 19's 2-1 Liverpool Under 19's. Massive disappointment. I was following the game on the William Hill website (Only place I could find information on the game...) so I can't comment on the performance. A challenge to get out of the group but still some hope. Rosenborg & Inter are currently drawing (1-1) and that isn't the result we want. That would leave us four points off second place but an Inter victory would leave us just three points off second. So come on Inter!
I think we'll be very lucky to get out of our group, TBH. Glad Coady got a goal, but our younger team is, like our first team, a bit of a work in progress.
