I think its fair to say theres no argument here , Newcastle will always have the superior fans and we have been to the championship and still got crowds of 49k 52,000 last season , Those kind of numbers you scousers could only ever dream about especially when you go through being as **** as we are !
    ------
If only that won you something ay! Never have been successful, never will.

The fact that you don't think football is all about winning says it all about your club realy. Pants.

That's a respectable average considering you were in the championship, but it does prove my point, that you managed to sell your stadium out in one of the final celebratory games of the season against Ipswich, but only got 39k against Scunthorpe who weren't the most glamorous opposition in that season. It's exactly the same for us really, some of the day trippers aren't bothered coming to the smaller/dead rubber games.

Ill repeat- To me football isnt always about winning, that will explain why your support is bad though, to me its about enjoyment, having a good time, a laugh with mates....

We dont care about winning things as Sir Bobby once said . It’s the noise, the passion, the feeling of belonging, the pride in your city.

That's out of order, I support Gillingham and they are a smaller club so you may call me stupid for supporting a small club, But the reason I support them is that they are my local team and that shows great football fans.

Hmm Europa League on Thursday night against respectable Lille or fizzy pop on Wednesday night against bloody Scunny?

I know what I would rather watch.

And that's why you will remain an average side. Oh well we lost again, but we sang well didn't we? Once again small club mentality.

Teams like us cannot compete in football now , When we could we were the best footballing side in england and deserved a trophey but sadly that was'nt to be.

Obviously you would prefer that, but if you had an away trip to Sunderland 3 days later and only had enough money to make one game, which would you choose?

If you were a daytripper coming from a long way away, wanting to see the Liverpool team, would you choose a midweek game meaning you'd have to get back for work or whatever the next day, or would you wait for the weekend like all others do?

I'd say the amount of loyal fans we have who turn up every week, is a very similar number to yours (39k-42k), it's just the fact you have a bigger stadium for the bigger stadiums.

With your massive stadia and fan base surely this isn't the case?

The question is would you fill a 52k stadium when the going gets rough? Based on the amount of empty seats I spotted at Anfield when Hodgson was here I would say no.

Anyways , I'm off for dinner now.

We should be competing but that will never happen because we simply do not have the money other teams have no matter how much revenue we make of the gates its not enough to throw the dollar about !
