So...very excited as this weekend I'm making the trip over to the Uk for a family event, which I agreed to on the condition that I go to the match on Sunday. Got a ticket right where my season ticket used to be in the upper loft. However, after reading general opinions and thoughts on here, and given our performance of late...is it going to be a miserable Loftus Road experience? Is there anyway fans have been letting their opinions be heard on matchday? Anything like SWP name being read out and greeted with silence? (not a fan of booing our own players so silence is the next option.) Has it been negative or is all forgotten as you arrive at the stadium and do positive attitude's take over? Here's hoping all will be positive as we are 2 up at half-time.
It will be another day of disappointment and excuses after as i believe our team dont know how to win. A 1-1 draw for me.
I think you will see a few goals in this game. Possibly a 3-2 home win to set us on our way. 7 points should be expected from Reading, Stoke and Southampton games which will be reasonable.
Unlike on this forum Loftus Rd is full of optimism and support, haven't heard any booing at any of the games so far. Hope you get to see our first win of the season!!
Me neither. The atmosphere in the stadium hasnt been great but I haven't heard any booing so far. I hope you see the first win Dave and the Irish R's see the third win of the season two weeks later (Stoke = 2nd win). Enjoy the game.
We're going to win 3-1 Dave. Enjoy it. If you see me give me a wave. I'm in the Lower Loft and I'll be wearing a QPR top.
Definitely going to be a win. If that rubbish Chamakh can get a couple of goals we should get at least five.
Agreed we must have 3 pts, even if it is a 7-5 scoreline in our favour, although currently I cannot see us notching up that many goals, although we are capable (even with Cesar) of shipping that many on a bad day at the office.
Glad to hear it, going by this board I was wondering if it would be all negative at the game as well. I'll look out for you 999...I will be above you in the p block...in a QPR shirt you'll be easy to spot.
Although I'm very disappointed in Hughes I'll say a win. 2-3 goals difference. For us. Reading will have less days to rest and should be tired against prolonged last night match. And they'll surely be down psychically. COYR
I make my way to pretty much every game in a positive frame of mind thinking that we'll win (bar against Man Utd, City, Chelsea etc). Still get excited every time the players start coming out of the tunnel. An oversized kid if you will! I'm again confident about our next game, but the recent home defeat to Reading is a niggle in the back of my mind. 1 goal win for me, which will do nicely and start the forward momentum.
The last time a team played 120 mins in the week I remember saying we should easily win as we have had the most rest and I remember we lost. I am just not positive at the moment and us and Reading are the only two teams in the top 5 leagues in Europe not to register a win. I dont think much will change here so 1-1 or 2-2 is my bet.
Our defence looked pretty reasonable against Arsenal before Mbia shot himself and his team mates in the foot. I presume we'll get Anton partnering Nelson which should work ok. I just hope offensively we have a real go - so far this season, only Adel has consistently looked up for it. Hoilett's been improving, and Mackie may merit a place after his scything run last Saturday. I want to see focus and aggression for 90 + minutes, and if I do, I think we'll walk off with three points.
Not sure Mackie will or should warrant a place in the first 11 due to that one run - as good as it was. He's started a fair few games and has never really looked as effective as he does when coming off the bench. Whether that's due to the opposition tiring towards the latter end of games is open to debate. Agree that we should attack from the off. The flair players do look a bit stifled sometimes due to them having to think too much about their defensive positioning and duties. Let them off the leash I say and see what happens. If we still lose, at least threads on here can then bash the players rather than the manager.
Agree one run doesn't justify it, Bob, and may be as you say, he's better as a sub. But I'd sooner have him than SWP who's lack of confidence keeps his best from us. Mackie can be a dogged marauder and I feel, could well be effective against Reading.
I don't know what you can expect on Sunday to be honest. I know what I want to see and that is a team who win, lose or draw play attractive football and make me proud to support them. I have seen very little of that this season, unfortunately. However, good luck and enjoy.
