to be honest I think we will get turned over...not sure that Norwich will play a weakened side and our players only like to play one half worth of football!
I'm hoping that Ade can make this game. EDIT - apparently he hasn't travelled My preferred line up Lloris; Smith, Dawson, Caulker, Naughton; Sandro, Huddlestone Sigurdsson, Bale, Lennon, Defoe Bench of Cudicini, Vertonghen, Walker, Falque, Townsend, Mason, Dempsey. Would be happy to see Dempsey play instead of one of the above attackers
Didn't they rest a few players in the earlier rounds? True, those were against lower league opposition, but they may well start without one of Holt or Hoolahan, at a guess.
Doesn't he have a stomach bug or something? It's really annoying how we can't get him 100% fit at the moment as this would be the perfect game for him to start.
This is getting annoying now. Every week we're all reminded of our terrible transfer activity up front!
TEAM NEWS Norwich manager Chris Hughton has said he will freshen up his side after naming an unchanged line-up for their last two matches. Russell Martin looks set to miss out after being replaced at half-time against Villa with a back problem. Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas is also likely to ring the changes as this is his side's fourth game in 12 days. Emmanuel Adebayor and Mousa Dembele remain injury doubts, but Hugo Lloris is expected to play in goal. MATCH PREVIEW The boos rang out on the final whistle at White Hart Lane as a late Norwich equaliser on 1 September meant Andre Villas-Boas' inauspicious start to life as Tottenham's boss continued. Fast forward two months and the dissenting voices have been silenced with Spurs fourth in the table, and boasting a record of having only lost twice in 13 matches in all competitions. On the other hand, Norwich and their new boss Chris Hughton have not had things their own way at all. But four points from their last two games, including a win over Arsenal, has given their season a much-needed fillip. The Canaries, though, will be mindful of the chastening defeat they suffered the last time Tottenham came to Carrow Road when Gareth Bale inspired them to a one-sided victory last Christmas. This match is a repeat of the 1973 League Cup final in which Ralph Coates scored the only goal as Spurs lifted the cup. MATCH FACTS Head-to-head They have met twice before in the League Cup. Tottenham won both matches - the 1973 final and a fifth-round victory in 1992. Tottenham have not lost at Carrow Road since April 1991, a run of seven matches. This is their 60th meeting in all competitions. Tottenham have won 26, Norwich 18 and there have been 15 draws. Norwich City Norwich have exited at the second-round stage in each of the last three seasons, and are making their first appearance in the fourth round in 17 years. The Norfolk club were the second winners of the League Cup in 1962, and also lifted the trophy in 1985. They last eliminated a top-flight club in December 1995, when they beat Bolton on penalties after a fourth-round replay. Tottenham Hotspur Tottenham have lost in the third round in each of the last two seasons, after qualifying for the last eight in each of the previous four campaigns. The north London club are four-times winners (1971, 1973, 1999 and 2008 ) and runners-up on three occasions (1982, 2002 and 2009). They are attempting to reach the quarter-finals for the 22nd time in League Cup history.
For the fist time ever and I do mean ever I'll be more interested in another match. The Chelsea/Man U encounter intrigues me.
I know what you mean. You can see the train wreck coming, you just want to get some popcorn and enjoy the show...
Lloris; Walker, Dawson, Caulker, Naughton; Livermore, Carroll; Falque, Sigurdsson, Bale, Dempsey Cudicini, Vertonghen, Smith, Huddlestone, Lennon, Townsend and Defoe
I like the back 5, not so sure about the mid. We might need some of our stronger subs by an hour, as I can see that mid struggling. I'll go for a win, but it could well take extra time and even penalties.
