Does anyone else agree that if SWP goal at home again'st Wigan was given, that he would be a better player today?
Was it Wigan or West Brom? I thought it was West Brom? I think his confidence is badly affected. Maybe a goal will bring it back. Zamora and Cisse also need a goal or two to get their confidence back.
It would of given him a lot more confidence going into the following games that might of saved Warnock his job. Then again all possibilities are plausible. Say for instance if you're sitting in the crowd and the ball comes to you and you hang onto the ball for say five seconds instead of throwing it back at the first oppotunity. Will that change the bearing of a game? Or how about if you went to a game and forgot your ticket and they didn't let you in. Could even that change the course of events? Mind boggling stuff?
It was indeed agaist West Brom finglas. If SWP goal would of stood we'd of probably gone in 2-0 up at half-time.
Maybe but I doubt it. I must say I was perplexed to see the criticism of him on here in the last few games. I thought he was our best player first half v West Ham! I also think he played alright v Arsenal. Very good at times in the first half and dreadful at times in the second. Defo not as bad as some made out. Its hard to distinguish him from Hoillett at times because they're both wee men that tuck their heads down and set off on a run and you don't know if they know where the fu*k they're going. I like Hoillett, he's a good player. But I think SWP isn't the worst either.
He is a big confidence player, I felt bad for the kid at Arsenal away you could see him getting affected and playing worse as the game wore on, didn't know what to do and overthinking
Couldn't sell him for glue. Less skill than mackie, slower than hill and with the work ethic of taarabt in the championship. Simply put, a lazy has-been
You have certainly found the wrong things to criticise him on, he has loads of pace just doesnt always know how to work it, his work rate is 2nd to none to and in that respect many could learn from him
No, hes absolutely ****e, he was given a song that was sung not because hes good but because its catchy and he still couldnt do bugger all. Pace is no good if you havent got a brain to use it.
can't defend. can't attack. the keepers position is taken so what exactly is his purpose? to give the oppo something to laugh about? if that's the case he's doing a fine job.
Frustrating player that gets to the byline but cant then put a good ball over, is prone to give the ball away and couldn't hit a barn door. He does put himself about though and has a great centre of balance and pace, imo he is the best offensive right winger we have. By the way whats happened to Dyer?
Best offensive winger? Mackie got something like 8 goals last season. Hoilett has a couple this season. SWP has had 0 goals for us and only a couple of accidental assists and also and assist for Arsenal last season and he tried to do exactly the same this season at the emirates. Passing to them in a dangerous area like he was on their team.
He's absolutely woeful - runs with his head down, never looks up, can't cross, can't shoot and consistently gives the ball away in dangerous areas. Got to be Mackie every time!
Said the same about SWP against Arsenal on other threads- didn't think he should have played, but in fact didn't think he was so bad, he mixed in some good crosses and a lot of work in with the rubbish that came mostly 2nd half.
