Bad result/performance. In fairness I think a lot of people expected this to happen. Adkins had to use this game to give none first-teamers a chance. It isn't his fault none of them stepped up to the mark. Let's also not forget Leeds knocked out a very strong Everton side in the last round. They are and have always been a cup team.

I think we can all safely say the capital one cup means **** all, and although you are all angry, sacking Adkins would be a terrible, terrible decision. I think everyone needs to clear their heads and their memories. Wigan just lost to Bradford, and I very much doubt they are all asking for Martinez to be sacked.

Think about this; IF we manage to snatch a result against WBA in the next game, how much rosier will we all feel?

So are you pinning all your hopes and optimism on that game? I get what you're saying mate but I wouldn't compare Wigan's upset to our own. Nobody on here is saying that Adkins should be sacked purely because of the cup exit. It's about 99.9% league struggles and we're struggling a lot more than Wigan are.

In fairness, I have a lot of mates at Leeds uni, so I could easily have gone tonight, but I predicted this would happen. The absolute priority is the league. Why risk our first teamers, especially against a Leeds team, who under Warnock tend to aim every tackle at shin height?

It gave us a chance to test out our second stringers, and see if any were ready to add anything in the premier league;- they aren't. Lesson learned.

To be honest, that's exactly what I wanted to see. This is a **** competition, and we shouldn't be risking the fitness of our first team players on it. I didn't care about the game - didn't even check the result until about an hour after it finished because it hadn't even been on my mind. To be honest I'm torn over whether I even wanted Saints to win or not: would I rather we progress in a pointless tournament, or save our players' fitness by being in one less tournament? I'm a bit disappointed our youngsters didn't impress at all, but whatever.

The team tonight consisted mainly of experienced pros of our PL squad, whether you wanted us to win or not the attitude of those players is the worrying factor. We never even mustered up one worthwhile goal scoring chance and FYI the only highlight was the desire of the 2 youngsters who started and the lad who came on.
 
Show the competition respect , I remember a few years ago us winning a lesser cup and we all partied , let's not yet again gloss over facts , that was bollocks , that was ****e and our squad is woefully inadequate and weak .

Stop searching for excuses .

Do you not think that given your recent run of results, a morale boosting victory could've done wonders for your side.

As it is, the result tonight has probably done little harm, other than give some more ammunition to any of your supporters who aren't happy with your manager, but a win may have given a bit of a feel good factor.

Can understand concerns about picking up unwanted injuries/bookings maybe, but with 6 days before you're next league game, I think any concerns about general fitness recovery are a bit weak.

From a personal point of view, I'm more than happy with the team you put out, it gave us a much needed victory and good performance, given the rubbish we have had to put up with over the last few games, and hopefully both the team and the fans will go into Fridays game against Brighton with a lot more confidence that of late.

I know, I'm just saying I'd have liked to see a real show from Ward-Prowse, Reeves and Shaw. The only thing I care about in these games is giving the youth a go. Of the more experienced players who started, I only consider Lee and Mayuka to be of a Premier League standard. I'm not fussed if the likes of De Ridder and Seaborne were crap. I already know they're crap, and as I already said, I don't really care if we win these games or not.

I don't really think it would have been that much of a boost. Our performance against Spurs was probably a bit of a morale boost, despite the defeat. Best of luck for the rest of the competition, and thanks for the well-wishes.

Oh, and get promoted soon please. The Prem misses you.

I tend to agree with Joe. This is a competition we were always unlikely to win and we played a league game 2 days ago so none of our more important players were going to be heavily involved. From our team Mayuka, Hooiveld and maybe Lee are the only experienced players likely to get much game time so I'm not that bothered.
 
You are not bothered we had a shot on target ?
You are not bothered we lost 3-0 ?
You are not bothered that this loss will put more pressure on the team and manager ?

I said wait until the end of November but at this rate he won't last till next Tuesday .
Apathy and apologists all together .
