    Do they think they'll win the CL or Premier League? Because they won't.

    That means they will be competing for the FA cup as their only realistic chance of a trophy, and they'll probably field weakened teams in the early rounds of that too. Baffles me that a club that can't currently compete for the league or cl would turn their noses up at chance at a trophy in the league cup.

    Man Utd did it in 2006 and it probably helped them a lot get the media off their backs and helped Ferguson breed a winning mentality into some of the newer players who hadn't tasted success or a lot of success.

    I have just realised that the format of this competition means that there cannot be any draws and one side has to win on the night.

    This makes the draw option on the poll I set up redundant...

    A big, fat <doh> for me.
