Chico - there is no way Austin is the best player outside the PL.

Hilts - Maybe I should have said goalscorer. I actually admit I'm wrong there as I'v wrongly excluded Whittingham.

Ince has dropped off a little from his outstanding early season form. Whits is the best player in the league currently. Zaha has the most potential IMO.

Surprised to see swamp doubting Kimbo, yes he came inside a lot, but he was absolutely outstanding for his first start in the league. He has pl quality vision and looks a class act. He recovered position very very quickly when we did lose the ball, showing that South Korean energy and stamina that Park brought to Man U for years. I think he could be a key member of our first 11 by Xmas. I thought the story about the German champions BD wanting him was bollocks but he could play at the top level from what I saw on Saturday.

What a real mix there is on this site of old buggers (incl. me, 59) and young bucks. Is there anyone in the middle?
Would love to think we go up this year but can't get confident yet. Been there too many times in the past. I remember a Tuesday night away match at the end of the season at Sheffield Utd and me sitting in the cricket club trying to get any news.....absolutely gutted. We needed to win to jump over Sheffield and get up. We lost 5 - 0! And all season we'd trashed the nearest opposition but lost to the bummers.

yep im 39........dumb and full of come.

things are looking great barring any major bad luck in the injury department.....last year we were just short of a real squad, but this year we have numbers and quality and i think this is our year 2 go up>>>>>>i tell ew what i`ll ask daiswan 2 look in his crystal ball and we can sit back a bit easier at knowing we have made it at last.

I dunno - I have a day off this board and the Klingon reappears. <doh>

How're you doing me old mucker? Great to see your monika appear on a thread again - hope things are on the up for you health wise and in other matters as well. Maybe a bit early in the season to start, but come and enjoy the party pal - we're going up. <ok>

Can we now please return to the crux of this very important thread without all this flag waving?

Where are the detractors? Where are the taunts? Where have all those frequent visitors gone?

Stop being nice now he's back. It's not what you were saying when he was missing. You were too busy flirting with his squeeze, Minxy.

    As for the detractors.........

    ..........WE'RE DOOOOOOMMMMED.

Perhaps we should pop over to a few boards (Swans, Leeds, BRizzle, etc) and ask around.

Lambrettaman had a swipe yesterday but was too nice. We ended up having a cozy chat and agreeing about things. Ho hum.

Come to think of it - are detractors West Indian Ipswich fans?

From my reading of some other CCFC message boards there is still anarchy and vilification surrounding the re-branding. I would like to think though it is just a tiny minority and those speaking against it are just narrow minded and cannot see the bigger picture.
I will not though let that get in the way though of my enjoyment of watching a masterclass on saturday, and hopefully they will replicate their home form and style of play on the road.

I was at that game I think we lost 5 - 1, that one time welshman Trevor Hockey done for us that night, I went up in the back of a small van, we were miles away from the play in the cricket stand, lost 5-1 and had a tyre blow out on the way home and I call them the good old days.

My first game was in the 60's Toshack scored a hat trick in the first half against Hull City, i think we won either 5 - 0 or 5 - 1, I would like to officially thank my Old Dad for taking me, as all in all i have enjoyed every minute of being a City fan, Even when we nearly went close to going out of the league. Happy days happy memories just like my 25 years in The Andrew.

not so much doubting stevoldinho, just that he looked a bit off the pace and played it simple all the time - however this is what you'd expect in his first start - and also i think that left hand side would have been exposed and attacked if we werent so dominant and burnley so poor on the day.

hopefully he can grow into the team and take more risks as he gains confidence..

See I thought he showed how simple the game could be, that the right pass is very often only 10yards but played quickly and acurately it can be more effective than taking 4,5 touches and trying to knock the ball 40 yards. The first goal came from an attacking position created by Kimbo stepping inside and passing the ball through a couple of Burnley midfielders. It wasn't a hugely complicated pass but it was very acurate, definately the right option and got us straight onto the front foot.

He always seemed to me to pick the right option and if Mason had played him in on his first half one-two would have almost certainly added a goal to his debut.

Just got in this evening and noticed this thread has descended back into discussing football again. <doh>

Can't you think about anything else? There's far more important issues to be addressed.

Like why hasn't this thread been visited by posters from another club (except from the fairly benign Chico)?

After all, we're only 16 points off a relegation spot.

Not only that but we haven't paid our taxes to HMRC. It's not due yet, but that's beside the point!
