[h=1]Michael Owen to be "released" by Manchester Unitedhttp://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/may/17/michael-owen-released-manchester-united[/h]How much did Man Utd get for Owen? "Released" players face prospect of adapting to life at a lower level http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2012/may/31/released-players-life-lower-level How much did Chelsea receive for Drogba? How much did Sunderland receive for Craig Gordon and Emile Heskey, Owen Hargreaves and, Salomon Kalou, how much did their respective clubs receive in transfer fees when these players were "Released" (as in "released" from their contracts)? Do you get it now? Being sold and being released are two entirely different things.
God help us all if some of you believe all what the Scottish tabloid press prints. And how anyone thinks being released and sold is the same thing is beyond me. I am not particularly a boruc fan but i think his treatment by home fans of a newly signed player is disgusting though saying that i do not condone his reaction. Two years in Italy and he was never in press and season 11-12 he was in top 3 keepers in serie a. He’s played two matches having not played a competitive game since may and Sundays match he certainly was not at fault for any of the goals. It be nice if he or any other player could be judged on what they currently do and not their past. What he did or didn’t get up to at celtic shouldn’t be used to beat him with. His fiorentina teammates never had anything but nice things to say about the guy
Trouble is Laurab. It's no win. If the club had ignored the fact he kicked something into the crowd we'd have been quite rightly castigated. Have to look into it. I just hope it's a storm in a tea-cup.
I've always been a big exponent of not just insulting people on this forum. I despise all the name-calling, baiting and the pathetic subheading of "banter". It belies any semblance of intelligence amongst the posters. However, saying all that, I feel compelled to break my vow. You, sir, really are a grade A pillock. Please don't ask me to explain why. I haven't the patience or the energy to type the behemoth of a message to bother.
You "sold them" in other words, so were these things you released, football players under contract to you?. "Released" (as I explained) is short for "released from his contract".
The way some of our fans behaved on Sunday, specifically those who booed their own team, I felt like bottling a few myself. Don't really blame Boruc if he did react. Incidentally, I sit in The Chapel and didn't see what he was supposed to have done, so I doubt it was anything that major.
So when players are sold, are their contracts normally retained by the selling club? When you are in a hole...
If someone is sold by a club by default they are being released , this is obvious , they are not being retained and sold are they ?
He was sold and in turn released of course he was , his contract was bought so in turn he was released . Thats plainly simple , the longer the contract the more expensive it is to release someone from it or thats a general rule of thumb .
