Not sure about this. I think he's always come across 'dignified' and a likeable guy but it doesnt scream ambition for a club recently in the Prem. Still, I suppose they did appoint old Pissy Pants when IN the Prem...
It does puzzle me why clubs do go for inexperienced managers, when they are looking to get back to the EPL. Bolton went for Freedman, Birmingham went for Lee Clark, Burnley look as if they have gone for Dyche. Owen Coyle didn't work out at Bolton, and Clark looks as if he might be on borrow time as Brum. I have to say the more I see, the fact that the Allam's went for Bruce, is starting to look a wise choice, no substitute for experience.
Dyche seemed out of his depth at Watford- at least Eddie Howe had a veneer of sophistication and attacking ideas. Cheapo appointment for Burnley - bad news for Cam Stewart .
I don't like Burnley as a Club and for that matter as a place, one little bit - I found their supporters to be the strangest 'breed' I've ever come across - maybe something to do with living high up on the darkest dankest Pennines.
