If he does then it will be because we are creating far more chances under Bruce than we ever did under Barmby or Pearson. Last season Fryatt was having to create and score - this season he would be filling his boots I hope you are right though, because if Simpson gets 18 goals we won't be far away
Yes but Fryatt would have been able to get 30 goals last season had he took just half of his chances!
If Simpson had took half his chances he'd be on 17 league goals now, or if we go just off how many shots on target he's had and ignore the ones off target hed be on 8 league goals.
That says a lot if he's scored 5 from only 8 shots on target. Only 3 times he's put it close enough to the keeper for it to be saved. That's a very good thing for me.
Still not convinced with Simpson. Couple of glaring misses against Bristol, need a more clinical striker for promotion. Gary Madine at Sheff weds getting any games? I like Leigh Griffiths at Hibs but seems to have a bit of an attitude.
14 appearances so far this season, so he's featuring in most(if not all) games, though he's only managed one goal so far this season.
What do you think to Leigh Griffiths OLM? Been impressive this season, caught my eye last season along with Aluko, plenty of guile and great little finisher.
I was talking to Cameron Jerome in Lidl car park earlier, he's gutted he cant even get a thread on here to himself. Wont come now....
This debate will roll on longer than my long thing, that's a FACT,so i might as well put my vast knowledged of the game to good use. 1/ Where the blazes do some of you get the idea we made hundreds of chances for Fryatt last season ? That was in FACT,the very reason we didn't score enough...no assists. 2/ Fryatt,as the more discerning of football connoisseurs on here have already pointed out, would have had at least 12 this season so far. Glad to help
Cant believe people knock Fryatt, Weve had ****e strikers for years, we finally get one with quality and people pick faults haha!!! Be knocking Aluko next.
He's had 34 shots total, 15 on 19 off, whilst 4/15 is a good goals/shots on ratio, from memory I think only one or two of his shots have been speculative and most have been decent opportunities. I'd say if he'd taken half of all his good scoring chances he'd probably me on about 12 so far. Just in response to Charlie's post by the way, not purposely trying to find ways to slate Simpson, I personally think he's a very good player.
I can't say I know much about Griffiths, other than it was odd for Wolves to buy him, simply to loan him straight back to a Scottish club for two seasons, having only ever played him as a sub in a Carling Cup match.
Like I said in a previous post if anyone deserves criticism on their finishing it's Aluko, he's had the 3rd most amount of shots in the whole division behind just Chris eagles and Charlie austin, something like 50/60 shots he's had and only 4 goals, missed some absolute sitters as well including open goals even McLean would be proud of.
I really was talking to a player(well, ex-player) in a supermarket car park today, along with the wife of another ex-player.
I agree about ALuko's finishing ,but i think hes only playing there because of Fryatts injury, See him more of a creator of chances rather than a goal scorer, but hes doing a half decent job chipping in so i wont knock him. whereas Simpson IIISss meant to be a goalscorer yet wastes similar chances to what Alukos been missing. Fryatt would bury them.
