I came to this a bit late in the day but here goes:

The Beatles - manufactired pap from 4 whining nasal scouse proicks none of whom would be fit to hold Ray Davies' plectrum.
Led Zeppelin - nothing but a tuneless noise with abysmal lyrics
Jimmi Hendrix - the American Led Zeppelin
Pink Floyd - pretentious twaddle and one of thse bands where people say "you have to be stoned or on acid to get the full effect". I'll pass thank you very much
Queen - Fredie Mercuy said he wanted to bring opera to the working classes - ****
Genesis - there's a theme developing here - 1970s prog rock should be a dark secret that's swept nder the carpet never, ever to see the light of day. If *****philes were music they would be a Genesis cover version with a side order of Pink Floyd
Dire Straits - never has a band been more aptly named
U2 - living off of one great album and the lead singer has to be the most hypocritical **** stain on the planet
    Simple minds - a poor man's U2
Cold play - music for people who don't like music.
Radiohead - it's not big, it's not clever and it serves no purpose other than to give people earache.

I'm a huge fan of The Band. The late Levon Helm was a class act.

One of Lady rogueleaders best friends is getting married soon and I was recently introduced to the fellow, having looked at my record/cd and guitar collection he asked me who my favourite guitarist was - informing me that his was mark knofler.....how can any rational person respond to that ?.................................other than to laugh in his face.

All down to individual taste I suppose but I thought, and still think, that The Jimi Hendrix Experience were superb. Not just Jimi's guitar but the excellent rythm section of Redding & Mitchell. It all got a bit too hippy later on in the 60's and I didn't much like the Band of Gypsys stuff (pikeys) but the first few Experience albums were awesome. Voodoo Chile always reminds me of Withnail & I so can't be all bad!!

I won't pretend to be Led Zepplin's biggest fan but Bonzo is the out and out greatest ever rock drummer so I couldn't add them to a list of the over rated bands.

I am in full agreement about Cold Play though, what a shower of sh1t they are.

Jimi Hendrix was pish and thats why he basically did away with himself. The best thing he did in his career.

    A harlot and a charlatan.

    God awful banal dirge-like noise.

It's all true - if you want to replicate the sound of the Jimmy Hendrix Experience all you need to do is put a very hot poker up a cat's rectum after you've glued its feet to the ground so it cannot escape. I have tape recordings available for a fiver a go if anyone wants one.

The Jimi Hendrix Experience were formed before Led Zep, and Although the maestro was an American, Noel Redding Mitch Mitchell were Brits the band were formed over here by Chas Chandler and that would make them a British band you know **** all about music.

    You're a ****<ok>

didnt do anything of note once hendrix died, couldnt have been rated by anyone else at the time..especially given this was the era of over-indulgent super-group noodling borefests.

I would love to throw my muck down her neck though, she can't sing for toffee but her ring-piece would get beaten like a ginger step-child.

    <laugh>

Chili peppers were brilliant up until BSSM, Hendrix was class, a keyboard player playing a Hammond and pedalling the bass line is not the sole act of white college boys but rather jazz trios a la Wes Montgomery, and why the **** has no **** mentioned Queen?

And speaking of drummers, although not a rock man, this bloke has to be one of the greatest drummers of all time.
