Defending was pretty good! You are having a laugh surely! It was a good job that Defoe had a shocker or we could have been 4 down at half time.... If we go in 2-0 down at half time or, like last week, we find ourselves 2-0 down 2minutes after the second half whistle then we really dont stand a chance even if we continue to play as we did in the second half yesterday. Remember Spurs had a busy midweek and clearly took the foot off in the 2nd half they hardly needed to press did they!
If it was that simple we would not have smaller quick full backs It was a case of standing there and ball watching , he could of mark him or he could of attacked the ball so Bale could not get a clean header on it , one thing for sure is Bale was allowed one hell of a run up for it .
If you look at any game all players make mistake. Difference at PL is the players are being punished for most of them. Harsh lesson that hopefuly they have learnt from.
