The second Everton goal was the result of switching off, but it would be harsh to single out Enrique. The back-four switched off when they were amazed that an obvious Liverpool throw was awarded to Everton by the linesman.
Wisdom was against one of the most in-form left flanks in the PL this season, to be fair. Baines makes most players look ****, Wisdom did ok considering and he'll learn from it. I agree with Enrique though, I thought he was ok. Whilst BR might not approve of his long passes down the line, he put in some terrific ones I thought and with the pace of Sterling, it's another option we have to break through. We shouldn't turn our backs on Jose just yet.
Wisdom got run all over the shot but he's young. Looking forward to seeing him grow into the role. Time for us to bring in some new quality players to replace Downing.
For me Hendo is a bit of a "horses for courses" guy atm. Seems to be reliable in fast paced matches where you need the runners, but doesn't do enough against your Stokes or Sunderlands. On Enrique, I remember our 2-0 win at the emirates last year where Enrique put in a MotM performance. Since then, I can't remember him matching that level of performance once. He didn't do too badly but "ok" doesn't match up with what he is capable of imo
I reckon we've already got Downings replacement in Assaidi, he was marvellous against Anzh. Downing offers nothing, I know he scored on thursday but that was a speculative effort, he could try that 100 times and it could only come off 5 times. I would sell Downing and use the money to add to whatever funds the owners come up with to sign reinforcements.
