Those a bit longer in the tooth on this forum (you know who you are), will remember with glee the magnificent 5-3 win against Middlesborough when a certain GF rose to cult hero status with a virtuoso performance. Question is, did CN come anywhere near it on Saturday?
RB - are you a Scouser, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh? Sorry can't answer the question directly as before my time but from my limited knowledge I would say, not quite. However, if Noone's second half effort which hit the bar had gone in, it might have been a close thing.

Gregory James Philip "Greg" Farrell (born 19 March 1944 in Motherwell) is a former Scottish professional footballer. Beginning his career at Birmingham City, Farrell found his chances limited and George Swindin signed him for a moderate fee to play for Cardiff City in March 1964. Playing as a winger, he often showed flashes of brilliance, including scoring one and supplying four other goals during a 5-3 win over Middlesbrough in May 1966. He eventually left the club in 1967 to sign for Bury. Farrell later went onto play in South Africa before retiring.
RB First saw City v. Hamburg in 1968. Mainly went to see Newport County until that game but then converted despite the result.
That being the case let's hope that Craig Noone's City career has more than just last Saturday's game to hold out as the pinnacle of his career.
He does have a long way to go to be better than Farrell. The problem with most wingers is that they are very inconsistent. Everyone is raving about Noone at the moment but what a nightmare he had at Ipswich.
That performance against 'Boro was probably the best I've seen from an individual. Had Farrell been able to perform like that game in and game out, he'd have made George Best look ordinary. Unfortunately, he had one or two "hobbies" outside of the game that had a bit of a negative impact on his consistency. I don't think that Noone has the raw talent that Farrell had, but he has a much better chance of making a long term effect on the fortunes of the club.
Dare I say it but better players around him to help him on his way. Just an observation not a statement as I never saw Farrell and the team he played in.
Gregg by a million miles, a real one off like the Reading game last night, Farrell was in a poor team at the time!
