Daft point. They have to prove it on a balance of probabilities, less onerous than the courts, but still needs to to proved.

Wouldn't go that far and neither do the courts. As for not being able to help it, neither can ugly ****s and slap heads, it doesn't make it as bad as racism though :D

I was doing the <doh> to my previous post, what's the problem? Not sure you know what nonce means either so probably best to stick to the words you do know <ok>

What is the "don't" alluding to if not "you have to prove someone innocent"?

Of course it doesn't necessarily mean he's a racist, the same was said regarding the John Terry issue whichever way he intended what he said. But would it not and should it not be deemed racial abuse to call someone a "paki twat" or a "jap twat"? Because it's more or less the same thing here. Comparing a team someone chooses to support with someone's ethnic origin? Lol.

Balance of probabilities doesn't mean it requires to be proved, just merely which series of events was the more likely to have occurred based on all the evidence available and the history of everyone and everything involved and the subject matter.

Yurilly, I do get your point....it's a dodgy situation. If racism is the root then I hope he gets shafted. If it isn't then it's a bit precious of any footballer to complain when they spend 90 minutes abusing refs during a match..give and take.

SD you'd be surprised, the FA might brlieve such a defence <whistle>

    No it ****ing doesn't.

Suarez V Evra proved that much.

No recordings either sound nor visual, no lip readers picked up anything, no witnesses on the scene of the crime heard or saw anything. It was literally down to Evra's word against Suarez's. The FA on the 'balance of probabilities' believed Evra's word as, to them, he was 'more credible' which is fair enough, but don't be tricked into thinking there was any actual physical proof because there weren't.

If Suarez had of gone to court like Terry did he would of recieved the exact same verdict as Terry for the exact same reasons.

'Balance of probabilities' doesn't require any physical proof. Its one person vs another and it comes down to who the panel believe is telling the truth.

Just curious -- for all of you calling for Clattenburg to be banned, if video review shows nothing, and assistants all corroborate Clattenburg's statement that he made no racial remarks, would you support a ban for the players making the unfounded claims?

It greatly hurts me to see injustice ( in any aspect of life - not just football ) - but we cannot go around convicting people just because we think they are guilty - there has got to be evidence to substantiate the claim. There would be chaos in our society if a person was accused, tried ( in a kangaroo court ), convicted & sentenced just because the judge didn't like them - At least Hitler didn't bother with a mockery of a trial as far as those poor Jews were concerned !!

Going to end very very badly for Chelsea this. Very badly indeed.

Assistants heard nothing, Chelsea players threatening the ref, numerous Chelsea staff almost starting a fight in the refs dressing room. John Terry getting involved <laugh>.

As Londons only said, pathetic and sour grapes from Chelsea.

What happens if Chelsea are lying? Points deduction?

I'd be very surprised if there was any lying involved here. Mikel just doesn't strike me as the kind of player to shout racism for no good reason. It's rumoured that he tried to get into Clattenburg's room because he was so angry with what was said - if that's true it doesn't sound like the actions of someone intending to make up a story to get the ref into trouble.

I read the police are now investigating and without any prompting from Chelsea or their players! I wonder who brought them into action?

We effectively get a points deduction everytime we are screwed over playing you lot!! I'm sure they'll be more coming at the old toilet later in the season. Maybe you'll get 3 offside goals this time to make sure.
