I've seen that Chelsea have made 2 complaints against ref mark clattenburg for allegedly saying something to juan mata and Jon obi mikel. I think it's a disgrace. I know he didn't have the best game and along with his lino got a couple of massive calls wrong, but seriously! How much abuse do refs take week in week out from players. They can't award a free kick without some one telling to at least f**k off. It seems to me that Chelsea can't do anything about the decisions so are making it personal by getting MC in bother another way. Unless he's been racist or homophobic it seems that Chelsea are being very childlike in this situation. UTT
**** deserves all he gets, he cataclysmically destroyed a great game last night with shocking decisions, as he and every other has many times in the past. Referees are untouchable and are allowed to steal the show as and when they like and can make any poor decisions without even being questioned. The standard of refereeing is truly abysmal and is ruining both the sport and entertainment value. These big ego ****arses need a proper good kick in the bollocks and made to perform to a suitable standard.
The term they used was "inappropriate language", so I doubt it was racist. The Evans/Torres decision could have gone either way, normally Evans would have walked, but as Torres was barely touched and did a double back flip to try and make sure Evans did get sent off, I've **** all sympathy for him. The offside goal was down to the lino, rather than the ref and though it was easy to see it was offside in slow motion, it was an easy one to miss during the game. I thought watching the game live, they were poor decisions, but after watching the replays, I've changed my mind. The officials aren't as good as they should be and not having to be accountable for their actions after the game is piss poor, but these sort of decisions are always going to happen in matches, even Collina had the odd contentious decision.
If Chelsea start to persecute the referees what reaction do they hope to get from future referees? If it gets really messy then who would be first to refuse to referee their matches?
This page states that it is alleged that "racial" language was used... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20122742
I can't wait for a referee to get what they deserve, wish it was happening to atwell or mike Riley though, hate those blind stupid pricks
It does indeed, all that wasn't up there last time I looked. With them all being able to hear what is said, I'm surprised they don't record everything.
I would be shocked if there was a racist comment. He might have said something insulting but players do that to the red all game long so why should they be so insulted IF a ref has a little pop back. It really seems to me that it's sour grapes from Chelsea and they could ruin a refs career and there captain can walk back into the team in 3 games
Somtimes I feel sorry for ref's they have an impossible job even if they get it right, somebody always says they didn't & TBH if I was a ref i'd lose my rag with half of them in a very short space of time.
The tv clearly showed that Clattenburg got the two decisions right to send those players off. Had Torres not been such a tosser to get a 1st yellow card then he wouldnt have gone. Refs cant do right for doing wrong. I bet you if you asked half the people who dont go to football any more, excepting the cost, the rest would tell you that they are really hacked off with cheating and simulation in the game. Here we have a referee who had the balls to do something about it and some of you want him shot at dawn.
Without referee's we would have no game. How can anyone criticise them i do not know. He didn't even have that poorer game, the one obvious decision was not even down to him, it was down to the linesman. The only other iffy decision for me is tainted by the fact, an athlete who is trained to have good balance when running, somehow goes down when really, he has no need to, and shouldn't do. So really i am not sure why he gets all this, when nothing is even proven.
I'm a qualified ref and it's a thankless task. I remember reffing one game that finished 9-1 (U11's) and the manager of the team that lost said they would have won if I wasn't ref. Because I obviously orchestrated a thrashing for a bunch of kids I don't know by another bunch of kids I don't know. Having said that, when it's against Hull City, I can't help but feel aggrieved by the ref at times, as someone said, there'll always be people that think you made the wrong call. Personally, I thought the Ivanovic red card was right, the Torres one could have gone either way and was a brave decision, and in real-time, the Hernandez goal was hard to spot and that was an unsighted lino decision were the benefit of the doubt goes to the attack, so all in all I don't think Clattenburg did as badly as everyone is making out.
If Mark Clattenburg did indeed make a racist remark then Chelsea will be left with no option but to make him captain.
I just can't believe that with all the racist stuff going on Clattenburg would have made a remark like that, maybe used unappropriate language yes, racist I somehow doubt. I just get the feeling this is Chelsea way of getting back at the ref for the 2 sending's off. The first one on Young was a defo sending off, and Torres did seem to go down easily, so on the balance of things, I don't think the ref got it all that wrong. I agree Torres should have had a straight red for his near decapitation of Cleverley.
Thing is, his poor decisions were honest mistakes. The contact on Torres was very slight and would have been easy to miss in real-time. I've seen much worse refereeing performances in the Championship most weeks, not in terms of big decisions but silly little things that could easily be put right such as the 'anything goes in the penalty area' directive and letting players off a yellow on account of them being already booked, as if that earns them extra lenience.
I don't believe for one second that a referee would have made a racial remark towards a player. It sounds utterly unlikely. If he has, he is a very silly boy, but I'm sure he hasn't. Was he misheard, or is it just an outright lie?
