Nico Krancjar - totally wasted at Spurs. Yet when he did play, he turned games around for you. I remember last season him single handedly winning you six points in two games.

Why has it taken Defoe to reach thirty years old to get a regular spot in the team ?

I still have a little chuckle about David Bentley from time to time <laugh>

Wasted?....really! Do you also remember Niko being handed a personal fitness regime during the summer from Harry, which he ignored to follow. Returning to pre-season 2 stone overweight?...Didn't think so, the only thing wasted here is your time with a clueless comment. <ok>

I don't think Krancjar was wasted. Yes at times he had limited playing time but he also got enough chances to impress, some he took well others he was a non-entity. I didn't know about the training regime that he refused to do but it makes sense as he looked very laboured in games when it reached 70 mins. I don't know well he's performed at Kiev since leaving but I don't regret letting him go, he got alot more chances than some of the players we've mentioned (Gio, KPB, Taarabt etc) and although as I said he did impress on occasions, it was never enough to warrant a selection over Bale or Rafa who were his main competition for starting places. I doubt we'll hear much of Kranjcar now to make me change my mind and class him as "one that got away".

    Bale
    Modric
    Van Der Vaart

Those were the first choice in each position Kranjcar played in. From that standpoint, he was always going to have limited playing time. On the other, if we were 3-0 up with twenty minutes to go, why not give one of them a rest and bring Niko on?

He's done jack **** at Kiev, bit part player if he gets a game at all. Only started one game and got withdrawn after 54mins...sounds familiar to me!

Kranjcar's situation was probably pretty similar to that of Arshavin. Talented, but with off-field attitude issues and on-field fitness ones.
Not in the first XI and unwilling to do enough to force their way back into it.
