Bob I believe that at the moment based on fact we may not beat anyone BUT in the bigger picture where we are heading I would agree in a few years we maybe able to talk like that i.e. In the future ... We are playing Chelsea this weekend and we all know and expect it will be a good game and we FULLY expect to get something out of it ... we have to earn that right like Chelsea have done. QPR are on a rocky road th important thing is to just keep going IMO
TF tweet: "I honestly believe we have one of the best managers in the premier league. And we are in for the long term. Whatever happens. We love QPR. Ill be there at reading so rangers fans ill be available to meet and chat. Trust me on this one. Keep the faith. Stability is the key." I agree at least that a change now would be foolish.
It might not be down to him, the papers said top level people, it could be Beard and Bhatia or other people pushing for it. Id take a loss if I knew 100% that meant he would be gone because a new manger would get more than 3 points over Hughes for the rest of the season so wed be better off.
I don't like the look of where we are heading. I understand what you are saying and i understand TF but i just don't think this is going to work out.
It depends on who he would appoint in Hughes' place. There's no-one else out there who I'd have any confidence in apart from Harry Redknapp. And he's available immediately. Lose to Reading and, despite what he's been tweeting, it'll prove too tempting for TF.
Top man our Tone and spot on regarding stability and the long term. I do trust him, I am keeping the faith, and I do expect us to start winning. We are building something totally different, the results recently have distracted me from this. Any gossip on the stadium? Had another good look at the Emirates on Saturday - beautiful place, but faults now obvious - bowl shape and the lower tier at way too shallow an angle. Plus you still have to queue for the bogs. On the downside, this board will continue to be a hotbed of frustration. Ho hum.
TF has no experience in football so why should we trust him? Is he basing his football decisions on gut feel? Hope not.
We have got a nice Chairman haven't we..? And he has got balls if needed...Proved with the sacking of Warnock...He is showing his support for his manager but if the results do not come Hughes will go. Football is a fickle buisness...
He's got to win or be sacked against Reading. He's got to win or be sacked against Reading. He's got to win or be sacked against Reading. He's got to win or be sacked against Reading. He's got to win or be sacked against Reading. He's got to win or be sacked against Reading. He's got to win or be sacked against Reading. I do not believe any of the rubbish in the papers ...for a start that is yesterday's news and they live off stuff like this. QPR's profile or mouth has been made big for whatever reasons and so it attracts the parasites ... live with that and wise up and see through it all.
Which owners/ Chairmen do you have down as football experts then? Whelan at Wigan, then I struggle.....Tone can only get experience through longevity, everyone has to start with no experience. Or if you want an experienced chairman, I'm told Ken Bates and Peter Risdale may be on the lookout. They have bags of it. Fact is TF is an expert at building brands, which is exactly what modern football is about, like it or not. I much prefer him to some Russian, Delia Smith, an American sports conglomerate or the other premiership owners.
Not sure I can really see TF backing down so readily from all he's been saying. Warnock never got this public support. I honestly believe we as a club really need as much stability as possible right now. And the fact we are not playing badly will see Hughes through this difficult patch (not that I am his biggest fan or anything). I just think we have come up against some tough opposition lately: Everton's and Arsenal's defences were solid enough; Reading's, Stoke's and Southampton's will not be.
Trouble is we play so defensively that they wont be tested, we will lose by an odd goal to them because our defence is so bad. We know we will concede so have to score at least 2 goals to win, how many games have we looked like scoring 2 or more?
Well we scored two against Reading last time... OK, bad example, but I just think the shape of the upcoming games will be different, i.e. there should be more space for our midfield to create more opportunities. Ending those opportunities with goals may, I concede, prove to be trickier, but I for one will feel more comfortable judging exactly where we're at after the Southampton game.
I corrected your opening sentence. If SWP plays those games, I want him gone no matter what. Even if we win.
The R's faithfull have said that we'll give MH ten games, I honestly think none of us expected not to have picked up at least one win out of the first nine games. I'm with the "must win" crowd for the Reading game, else will start thinking of a new manager. The issue seems to be that MH has still not found his best starting line-up or formation. It has taken seven games before he's realised that Adel and Granero can play together and create something going forward. Everyone knows how poor we have been defensively. Sunday must demonstrate a positive and determined approach and we should play to our strength and "attack, attack, attack" from the off. If we don't get positive, then I'm afraid it will be a disappointing draw at best and just heighten the curtain call for Hughes & co. Squeaky bum time -fast approaching!!!
Agree. Something big doesn't sit right if someone wants us to lose. Hughes should have gone after Hammers, and it will take a lot more than one win to convince me he is even a half way decent manager. So far he has been apalling, and it amazes me that anyone wants him to stay as long as Reading. But it seems TF is sticking with Hughes come what may.
