Let's just ignore the part where United's been the must successful English team in Europe over the last 20 years. Anyways the beat part about this whole debacle is that out of all the bitters moaning on here, none of them Chelsea fans.
United finally got that monkey off their back with the help of Clatt. Great game, looking forward to rest of the season apart from Torres
Dont be so sure. Theres a few but most are showing they are a sensible bunch of lads. I suppose we cant blame Liverpool or Arsenal fans as none of them had a game today anyway so they may as well discuss United.
Well so far it's just a few 'pool and arsenal who've got their panties in a bunch. Personally I always try and look at a poor/wrong decision from a ref's point of view. If you look at the calls he got wrong today you can partially understand why he made certain calls, and i think most level headed people do the same. The bitters just see a wrong call and conspiracy.
I would say Liverpool's record is better in that they only competed a few seasons in the Champions League and reached two finals. SAf has a poor record in Europe. Imagine Jose or Carlo's record if they had 30 years at one club to build CL winning teams
I don't like the conspiracy bullshit HOWEVER it's impossible to ignore these theories when United's chief exec is also the FA vice-chairman. I thought we were absolutely brilliant today, very proud of our players performance after such a slow start and a terrible game on Tuesday, only thing that dented it was our defence (and it's clear Luiz isn't up to playing at CB) and the ref's ineptness. I've defended Luiz in the past because I thought he'd adjust but I think trying him in another position would be in our best interest. Ivan unlucky, he tried to cut across and beat Young and took a risk in doing so, not a great deal of contact but a definite red. Torres stupid, went down far too easily and made such a meal out of it knowing he was on a yellow already, should know better after the whole saga that's been spoken about this week, but I do think he received the same amount of contact Ivan did so it should've been a card for Evans imo. Hernandez was offside but very difficult for the linesman to see as it looks like Cech covers Hernandez and it happened very quickly from a dodgy angle, these things happen. Clatt got everything else wrong tonight, had an appalling performance overall and shouldn't be allowed to officiate a top game again.
Drogs As you may remember my 'other' team is Spurs - so I shouldn't have any sympathy for Chelsea .... but The officials cheated your lot. The referee was directly behind the Utd defender and Torres and not in any position to see the connection on him by the defender. My point here is that the referee could not be absolutely certain that Torres 'dived'. I didn't think that referees were allowed to guess !! Also Hernandez was in an offside position for a few seconds in the build up to his 'goal'. He had been on the goalline during the scramble to clear the ball as it span towards the post. Surely the lnesman - who would ( should ) have been in place saw Hernandez standing on the goalline and then a split second later moving off the line a couple of feet to tap in the ball. - cech may have 'slightly' obscured Hernandez at some stage - but the duration that Hernandez spent on the goalline ( offside ) was much longer than is normal - and he was wearing a shirt of a different colour.
the best ? What did you win last year , ? Community shield werent it ? DUMPED out of the CL in the group stages. DUMPED out of the europy . Dumped on by city (hilariously) in the dying minutes of the season . So you had to come to us for a decent striker as yours was/is a granny shagging pikey. Beat chelsea ONLY after 2 sendings off and a dodgy offside ruling , yet they STILL are above you in the table. sure you are the best
I could see Hernandez was offside. Clatt had a stinker and united to their credit too advantage. United were surprisingly negative today though
The best love. Biggest and best side in the land. One offs count for nothing. Plus I wouldnt talk about what the team I support has won recently with you being an Arsenal fan. Not a good idea Oh and your sig, Ive not been too far off to be fair have I. Might not be 7 but the point has been correct
Its true though. Clatt cannot call offsides. Imagine if it was down to the refs to call offsides. Chaos
I can't call offsides even on TV at times so refs have hard job. I think he got both decsions right today lol
Im currently downloading the second half as I was working and I want it in HD so the files ****ing massive and taking its jolly time. So long I have just ordered virgins 100mb fibre which will will be installed in a few weeks now. thank **** as my 8mb talk talk is the worst thing since dial up. Rather than watch MOTD I am going to watch the whole game on me new TV and see what all the fuss is about.
Its the linesmans job to call offsides though. Plain and simple. The ref is not in a position to make such calls.
