Did anyone see exactly what happened in the incident regarding him and the Chapel Saints fans today? I heard a load of angry shouting and looked round, and saw Boruc got booed by the Saints fans, and then he clapped them? As Big Dave said on Radio Solent, strange way to endear your fans on your home debut. There were mixed accounts from those texting in to the show post-match, saying he threw/kicked a bottle at fans, attacked fans, attacked a steward, and swore at fans? So, did anyone see the incident, and what happened? Shame for a player with so much quality, just needs a better attitude it would appear, we've all heard that he has history.
He's got form in this area. From what I heard he kicked a bottle and it hit a steward? So might have got a bit of stick for that and taken it badly. I just hope he and the fans forget about it and move on.
In fairness, if the fans in the chapel are anything like some of the people that sat near me last season when I had my season ticket, I'm not suprised he reacted. There really are a lot of twats that go to St. Mary's. (With that being said there isn't really an excuse to boot a bottle.)
Oh my god, he kicked a bottle!!!!! At last a bit of news to knock the Jimmy Savile story off the headlines. FFS.
Lock him up for 50 years. On another note, have you seen that video of the two Spurs supporting old farts squabbling over Bale's shirt like 12 year olds? What an embarrassment.
When dickhead fans sarcastically cheer when he touches/picks up the ball what do you expect? Don't turn up and berate a player that is trying. Some of them were a disgrace in the first half. none of them wanted to put a foot in. At least Boruc was trying. Screaming the team on like a ****ing cheerleader in the 2nd half
Hang on a minute, as much as I agree it is really undesirable for us to see and read about, there was obviously provocation. Now some people may trot out the "he's a pro" argument etc. and mention his wages. HOWEVER, there is a phrase that springs to mind "don't dish it out if you can't handle it", whilst his actions cannot be fully condoned, some of the people moaning get personal and abusive at the football towards players of their own team, and when the player reacts they play the victim. We all do things in the heat of the moment, and so did Artur. He probably will come to realise it was bad but that was how he felt. Without his side of the story who are we to play judge?
I was looking away when he did whatever he did, but some guys around me saw it and weren't impressed. I did see him sarcastically clap though when they booed him not long later. The stewards were clearly taking note of the incident however immediately afterwards, and will presumably report it.
To be honest you can understand why he got annoyed, i used to play in goal and when your having a bad game you dont need to be told, you all ready know. However im not sure why Gazzaniga has been dropped out of the team all together in favour of Boruc?
It was shocking. I don't blame him to be honest for getting pissed off, the fans were horrible. We all know he's insane so booing him is the last thing he needs.
To be fair, he didn't kick a bottle!! After Spurs second goal went in someone obviously shouted something (didn't actually hear what it was but probably just born out of frustration at going 2 nil down) Boruc seemed to be "inviting" someone on the pitch. This caused more people to react badly so he THREW a bottle into the crowd and it hit someone. Not sure if it was a Steward or a fan but there was lots of subsequent note-taking going on. Some fans then booed him and that's when he turned and "applauded."
Friedel's shirt - but nevertheless an embarrassment. For those of you who haven't seen it: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20117987
