87 gasheads have joined this forum. 64 of these 87 gasheads have made less than 10 comments. 35 of these 64 gasheads have not made a single comment since joining the forum. 23 of these 87 gasheads have made 10 or more comments and only 14 of these have made 100 comments or more. im surprised how many have joined us! thats great in my opinion. however thats a big number of inactive users. i have asked if there was a way to get in touch with these members to try and get them back. apparently an automatic email gets sent to members after a certain period ot time being inactive. the email gets sent to the email addresses that was used to join the forum. clearly thats not working as no one is returning. before bbc606 closed, our board on that site was booming - always active and busy. thats the goal for our board on this site. and with 87 gasheads that has joined up here, imagine how great this board would be if we were all active! if the emails that are being sent is not working in making them return to this site, then in hope that they look in once and a while as a guest, lets get this forum going, which may entice them to get active on here. im sure we all want this board busy and active. i have been concerned of late as we may have lost our moderator pirate49. he has been a good friend recently so i hope he doesnt get upset about me saying this but he has become frustrated over a few things, particularly in a certain incident that took its toll on him. took its toll on me too and i nearly left myself. however that incident is over now and im up for this. i hope p49 stays with us as he will be really missed as he brings a lot to this board. as p49 hasnt been around of late, i been unable to discuss this with him (as modorators) to get his viewpoint on where to get us growing. so im putting it out to everyone of you. im sure we all want this board to grow. so in what ways do you all feel that our board can be improved? be honest please. i wont take any offence if its about me either. i have been trying to think of things that could improve our board to keep those who join interested. 1 thing we could improve is to have more threads which sticks to the theme of the thread and not lose the thread to wums. im not saying we cant have fun or cant banter etc, but lets not make every thread into a banter thread with red or with each other. i hold my hands up as im very guilty of this myself. lets have some banter threads and some serious gas talk which stays that why. then we have the best of both. what does everyone think of that? i want this board to grow. if we can make our board available to all types of gasheads then maybe more people will be interested which im sure we all want. if you guys would be happy with this then i can control certain threads buy deleting comments that has no purpose on certain threads which will keep the thread clean and on point. im sure under the certain circumstances of the state of our club on and off the pitch, there would be plenty of things to talk about. i have suggested 1 way which i think could improve us, can you guys think of ways? lets discuss any ways that any of us have and try and implement them. remember its OUR board, NOT mine. i dont run our board, WE do and WE have to try something otherwise this site could fail. another thing we can do is advertise our board as well. maybe try and get those who we go to games with to join up. if we all could find just 1 person each then that would be an amazing start. if you use other forums maybe try and get some of them to join us. our current OS forum is embarrassing in my eyes. its not enjoyable. so much bitchiness and lack of respect for each other. being a gashead is like being part of the blue and white family and to me the way that site is, they dont act like a family but act like keyboard warriors on a mission to fight each other. i feel all of us on here get on well and compliment each other well. i feel we are better than that site due to this so we have the potential to grow and have a lot to offer. i value all of your efforts to stay involved and remain part of this board and site and i thank you all for this. my goal is to build our board and i will stick with this 100% but i need all of your help. your ideas will be appreciated. if we build it, they will come. over to you guys.
CJS, how much control do you have on this forum, can you create topic folders, for example; Rovers talk - club issues on and off the field only Football talk - all other football related issues Serious topics - any non related football General nonsense - the place for anything light hearted, BANTER etc
Great post cjs . 87 gasheads that is a suprise I thought there was around 10. It would be great to get some of the outcasts from os forum over here as it seems the ones who speak some sence and truth seem to get lambasted or get called a ****head. I'm still in the believe that alot of them around 16 years of age so they can't except when some gasheads call for the mangers head as they've only been supporting the gas for a few years and nothing about the crap we've had to put up with since coming back to Bristol this is my opinion though . I would like to see more polls back on here but it doesn't seem like you can post them anymore
great question and sadly we cant have sub folders like our OS forum. as for how much control i have on our board, i along with all mods on our own boards can do the following.... delete threads close threads edit threads merge threads delete posts edit posts stick threads at the top of the page unstick threads obviously having these powers, we cant and shouldnt abuse them. example, shouldnt just delete a post if it disagreed with my opinion. should only delete/close if threads or comments become racist, abusive or threatening. sometimes its hard to determine is the abuse actually banter and 9 times out of 10 it is banter so its rare to close threads and ever rarer to delete threads. were not really mods to be honest. were not employed as mods and dont get paid to do it. 1 guy owns this site and he has just 1 super mod to manage the place. the owner and super mod has their own jobs outside this forum so they cant be on here 24/7 to handle things. so they entrust fans on here to care for their own board in a self moderation capacity. we are advised to just be laid back and let things flow and to look after our board and our members and ensuring that the board runs how WE all want it. fans from other boards who come on our board are guests and should obey the things that WE want on our board. this is why i am asking for everyone to input on this as its ALL of OUR board and i want everyone to be happy and for it to be an enjoyable place for gasheads to come together and discuss all things rovers and KEEP coming BACK. so far 58 views on this thread and only 2 comments prior to this comment. not sure if people dont want to have an input or care if this place grows or have any ideas or if these people viewing are non gasheads but people looking in. but i need help from all of you in getting this board exactly right so we can grow.
you could be right about the OS forum. i am a member there as well and i dont enjoy it. me and chris quite few months ago brought up this site to see if people would join up but within minutes the thread got deleted by their mods a few times. polls still work by the way do you need help?

Maybe a Not 606 Bristol Rovers fans forum page . I'm not on there anyway as I find facebook as annoying as the OS Forum but yeah good shout from shiny
feel free to fall back in love with facebook and create the page for us anyone who uses facebook a lot (i dont), i personally would appreciate someone setting that up for us to help us grow.
I set one up, but its hard to get people liking the page. Don't know if your official fan page on fb do this but ours delete pages you put on there wall so its hard to post the group about unless you already have a well followed rovers related page already, then you can post it where more can see.
We have tried FB before with the original 606, but it lasted about a week and then fell away. Not sure how to get people posting but even if we just had those who posted on the old 606 site came back we would be much more active. I think the cross thread ability was one of the best things about this site, as you could link two clubs together and get some real threads going, banter or serious....
Already been banned mate lol I have another account but I just can't be ****ed with it anymore. You get banned on that site for expressing an opinion
I would prefer to have a number of threads where a bit of sensible discussion isn't wrecked by WUMs which drift away from the topic. I would also agree that a number of stickies could be left up as SoLongSoBle suggested earlier.
Actually, I would love to know where some of the original 606 lot have gone TOTEENDTONY 1team Pride (vanished again ) Any others?
