So it was in fact pretty bad for the most part. Not surprised to hear that if I'm honest. Not expecting much from Abu Dhabi, hope Austin turns out well, and Brazil should hopefully be a good penultimate race for the year, although I suspect Vettel will have the championship wrapped up by then so it probably won't matter anyways.

Eh? Why did he decide to go home on lap 58 of a 60 lap race?
So far as I am aware, there was no reason to stop before the Chequered Flag unless he thought Blue Flags were Black Flags (but he tends to ignore those too). Actually, I can't remember a better example of someone simply 'giving up' for years!

    • Best Driver: Alonso.
    • Worst Driver: Perez for elementary over-driving/ Schumacher for allowing himself to come under question for doing what he's dismissed and castigated others for, for years; or for his 'poor loser' late retirement. Err, I mean his early late retirement. Or was it his late retirement that was too early? I confess, he's still managing to confuse me about these/this/it, and I think it's a great shame that he is/has/will/did/whatever…
    • Best Rookie: Grosjean.
    • Best Team: Red Bull.
    • Worst Team: Probably Mercedes. If for no other reason than having only one driver who wants to race to the flag(s?).
    • Best Overtake: Two McLarens and a Ferrari: Hamilton, Button and Alonso all deserve this: all on each other in almost every combination.
    • Funniest-moment: Alonso's radio.
    • Most Surprising Result: Sennaout-racing Maldonado.
    • Least Surprising Result: Vettel's Chequered Flag from Pole.
    • Special Mention to: Hamilton and Webber. Both did a tremendous job under the circumstances and Hamilton's pit-stop which included a steering wheel change) totalling just 3.3 seconds!
    • Race Rating: 6.18/10
    • Best Commentator/Presenter overall: Ben Edwards – No contest. Although literally anyone is light years better than the alien we once knew, the 70s DJ called Crofter is an ignoramus who pretends to know what he's talking about and then thinks it's funny to argue the point with professionals. And then he keeps the argument going as if he thinks he'll be admired by what he must consider to be an even more ignorant audience! He likes the sound of his own voice too much and has a thoroughly disproportionate view of his own importance.

IMO I think Austin will be the track that decides the WDC.

Yea I'd have to agree actually, and as much as I'd like Alonso to take it I think your man Vettel will have his 3rd WDC wrapped up then

Ross Brawn said Michael stopped because they saw something in his gearbox, and they can change it without a penalty if he retires. Whether you believe him or not is your decision. Michael hasn't looked motived since Monza though. The failure of that last big upgrade from Mercedes in Singapore was the end of his career really.

Senna actually looked quick all weekend for the first time since Hungary. Bottled it in Q2 (slower than his Q1 time) and then again when he had the chance to jump Rosberg in the pits. Shame. He was seriously quick again when he finally got past.

    Julius Caesar:
    Thankyou.

I began my post by saying "So far as I am aware…".
    – And although I only have your word for someone else's word for it, you have helped make me more aware of another possibility. Of course, you are right about my beliefs ultimately being my own; but I am open minded and always willing to hear better versions of the truth, which will modify my own belief, one way or another.

    Once again, thankyou.

    :)

Nope, I can confirm it was a gearbox issue. Get your massive head out of your arse.

Lots of votes for Alonso... and he did have a very good result, but surly Vettel was the man of the race. Another dominant performance and totally untouchable.
