oh, you are going to get bitch slapped for that comment and score for Mayuka. He must play the full game against Brom, Punch works hard but offers nothing going forward, Spurs defence were scared of his pace and conceeded freekicks and a yellow card which would affect the defenders play if it had happened in the first 20 minutes, also Bale and Lennon could not push forward

Yoshida for me, cracking game, won everything, completely solid. J-Rod, Mayuka and Lallana I thought were very good too, didn't think Spider was at his best today though unfortunately. Although, Spider not at his best is still awesome!

I thought Mayuka was bright when he came on. Jay Rod stood out from a dreadful bunch in the first half to me, for Lallana he might not have had a brilliant game, but he did show me why he is going to be so important to keeping us up this season. I'm sure a few of the benched lot will get a chance against Leeds (which I fully expect us to lose). Add Cork and Ramirez to that starting 11, and I would be a lot happier.

Nothing wrong with having opinions! I disagree with some of the ratings. But to say you DIDN'T SEE much of him? Come on now.

Impossible to give match ratings when the two halves are so, so different from each other. Likewise with picking a MOTM (for us).

Boruc - 5.5 - Can't really tell you a lot that he did well, although didn't do a lot bad. Thought his distribution was inconsistent, but did hit a few accurate balls up top.
Clyne - 6.5 - Apart from one really classy header, I didn't see a lot of Bale and Clyne has to take some credit for this. Great going forward in the second half.
Fonte - 6 - Again, didn't really see a lot good or bad from Fonte today, although he seemed a lot more comfortable in the second half.
Yoshida - 7 - Battled very hard, and seemed switched on today. Excellent second half, got in a few key tackles and drove the ball forward.
Fox - 6 - Seemed well protected today, so we didn't see a lot of Lennon vs Fox, which is what should be happening. Excellent set piece delivery, but not an overly inspiring performance.
Puncheon - 5 - Not the performance he is capable of, saw him a few times all on his own with a few Spurs players around him, can't say he had that much of an impact.
Davis - 5.5 - Thought he had a poor first half, have seen much better performances from him. I think he benefits from maybe having an extra man in the middle to help out.
Schneiderlin - 6.5 - Not the high standard we normally see from Schneiderlin, but went about his usual game to decent effect.
Lallana - 5/8 - didn't see much of him offensively in the first half, spent a lot of it tracking back but offered little offensively. Came alive when he moved into the middle, felt like he deserved something to happen for him.
Rodriguez - 7.5 - has deserved his first goal in the league, ran tirelessly and was always trying to cause problems. Hopefully the first of many goals.
Lambert - 5.5 - was beaten in the air a lot by Gallas and was given very little time on the ball, so didn't see him making a huge impact. Seemed a little sluggish today.

Mayuka - 8 - for the second time (after Villa) he has come on to great effect, and is a great person to have on the bench. A first start can't be too far away for him now.

Scheniderlin was not a 7. He was rubbish in the first half and most of the game. He made no tackles in the whole 90 and 2 interceptions. Very poor for his position. His passing was down compared to normal. Don't rate a player on reputation. He was poor.

The game changed when Mayuka came on. So he gets the motm for me.

Artur Boruc -4, I thought was at fault for the 2nd goal (replay says otherwise) and had a spat with the fans in the Chapel, didn't command his area at all.

Nathaniel Clyne - 6, Spent 3/4 of the game concentrating on keeping Bale quiet no support from Puncheon, better when Mayuka came on
Jose Fonte - 7, A very solid second half display.
Maya Yoshida - 7 MOTM, Very impressive at the back.
Danny Fox - 5, Looked better going forward than defending, went missing leaving Lala short and having to chase Walker and never catching him.

Jason Puncheon - 4, Worst game I have seen him play since he returned to the fold.
Morgan Schneiderlin - 7, Typical Morgan display. Impressive. Pity that shot hit Sandros, it was a goal all the way.
Steve Davis - 6, Ran himself into the ground without delivering too much.
Adam Lallana - 6, A few good moment but otherwise quiet, better second half.

Rickie Lambert - 6, Playing a more complex creating role, did what he did well.
Jay Rodriguez - 7, Lacked confidence until getting the goal, looked a better player afterwards, theres more to come from him now.

Emmanuel Mayuka - 6, Changed the complex of the game, by just doing what he is good at, must start soon.
Guly do Prado - 6, Didn't do anything wrong.
Ben Reeves - 6, Looked decent, should get a start to see what he do for ninety minutes.

Referee - -2, Fussy and gave Spurs more than their fair share of decisions.

Kingsland Lino 9 a good performance from this guy.

Boruc - 6 - Couldn't do a great deal about either goal from what I saw, didn't do anything other than that though so can't really justify higher than 6

Clyne - 6 - Decent going forward and at times our biggest threat, but wasn't great defensively and should have done much better in stopping Bale for the first.

Fonte - 6 - Average game really, he was unlucky from what I saw to slip and not get the ball away for their second, other than that was decent

Yoshida - 7 - At fault somewhat for both goals, let Defoe run 25 yards across our defence for the first, and then didn't track Defoe who ran in behind him for their second. But in the second half he was brilliant so knocks himself up to a 7.

Fox - 5 - Didn't do great at the back and gave the ball away a lot, don't know if all his long-balls are a team plan, down to him or both, but there were far too many today either way.

Lallana - 6 - Did pretty well going both ways but nothing really which makes me think he deserved more than a 6 or 7 at most.

Schneiderlin - 5 - Probably being overly harsh due to my very high expectations of Morgan's abilities, but for me that is the worst I've seen him play in a while. Didn't affect the game going either way, gave the ball away much much more than usual and got into silly mix-ups with Davis and others.

Davis - 5 - Basically the same as Schneiderlin. Expected a lot more from him and he wasn't his usual efficient, engine of the team performance, but instead he was a bit sloppy and didn't perform as I expected.

Puncheon - 4 - Again, probably overly harsh but was just really frustrated with him, he gets on the ball and just never looks like doing anything with it, misses simple passes, doesn't get at his man in any threatening manner, just no real ideas. Mayuka showed when he came the polar opposite with great direct incisive wing play and looked such an improvement.

JRod - 7 - I thought he looked slightly more up for it in the first half than a lot of our players, but whenever he drifts out wide he, like Puncheon just never looks like producing, doesn't look like getting past anyone and doesn't provide anything. Was much better second half when he spent more of the game central and playing like a proper striker. Edges MoTM ahead of Mayuka and Yoshida, because Mayuka wasn't really on for long enough and Yoshida was still partly at fault for both goals despite his good secnod half, so can't really give it to either of them.

Lambert - 6 - Worked hard in the second half moving around and trying to move the team up, but he wasn't where we need him which is in the box getting on the end of things and getting goals, think he only had 1 shot in the game which was that near-post shot which is disappointing since he's our main source of goals.

    Subs:

Mayuka - 7 - Looked great when he came on, quick, determined and direct. And showed two things which I wasn't sure he had in his locker which is a couple of good crosses, and he got back and made a great tackle. Vertonghen is a very good player and in form, and Mayuka had him in all kinds of trouble at times.

Reeves - 6 - Looked decent but wasn't on the pitch for long, and came on at a stage where Spurs had thoroughly parked the bus so he wasn't really tested.

Guly - 6 - Like against Fulham he looked useful when he came on, but didn't really effect much so can't give him more than an average 6.

    Gaston - 0 - Get well soon!

No offence to you as this is a general reply to Fox criticism. In the 2nd half he did very well against Lennon and Walker. He got almost no protection in a 15 minute window from 60-75m and dealt with it well. That's why he was taken off, he was ****ing knackered at that point. A couple of times Fox was caught on the counter but so was Clyne yet no ones berating Clyne for that.

The time we looked a threat in the second half was long ball. When we played possession we got no where and ended up going long ball eventually almost always. Fox was the player that would go long without a second thought, it was effective and saved time. His delivery from set pieces was excellent.

As for giving it away a lot. Really? 84% completion even with 8 crosses attempted and 13 long balls attempted.Only Clyne and Lallana had a higher passing completion rate of those that started.

Yeah, whilst it's not saying much, I did think was possibly Fox's best game of the season.

That's not what the guy behind me thought. He was furious with Fox for both goals. I'm not sure why. Probably because Guly wasn't on the pitch.

Second half I think he like the whole team he improved and was good defensively, but this was helped by Spurs barely leaving their half for most of the second half. But in the first half he frequently got sucked in by Lennon and found himself out of position and leaving a huge gap for Walker and others to run into, which was just really poor for me. Maybe my choice of words was poor in regards to his use of the ball, but I just find too often his long-balls are needless and toothless, and just end with us losing possession, and I just think that in general he gives the ball away or puts it into harmless positions from which we pose no threat in situations where there were better options. His crossing was also not up to his usual standard as well which is usually his strong point. He did play in front of me for the first half and at the opposite side of the pitch for the second, so maybe my opinion is biased by his first half performance and from past games, but still for me he was not great.
