not like that you wont beat us. we are head and shoulders above what i can only describe as championship standard that you play......you have to beat the spurs at home if you have any chance at all of staying up and the table does not lie.......Is it adkins fault or are your players not good enough....I think its adkins lack of premiership knowledge myself.....
And crucially it gives more protection to the left-back. Only problem then is you surely have to leave one of him and Ramirez out... Like this you mean? http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/dec/31/swansea-tottenham-premier-league-report
Part of the difficulty from Nigel's perspective is that this team has made it rather difficult to take concrete lessons from performances. At the start of the season, Lallana was mediocre in the middle; he then looked good shifted back to the left. Today, he looked mediocre on the left, and very good when moved back to the middle. Rodriguez showed his brightest play previous when on the right; today, he had finally found his shooting boots playing in from the left. Puncheon has been in spells one of our best players and a complete non-entity. Can't blame Adkins for being unsure of what our best tactical setup might be, because this team is difficult to forecast. Against West Brom, I definitely want to see this lineup: Boruc Clyne Fonte Yoshida Fox Davis Lallana Schneiderlin Mayuka Lambert Rodriguez Might be the recipe for a drubbing, but I'd like to see up put a lineup out there that can provide a real threat on the counter.
Christ, even Swansea fans saying were **** now, what has happened to the premier league in our absence?
I have a feeling that Swansea fan's quote is one of those that is going to become legion. Opening his mouth too soon - I thank him in advance for that morsel. Completely useless and irrelevant on its own, but with the benefit of hindsight, I hope we are going to enjoy quoting that back at him!
One thing that doesn't help is this bloody stop-start Premiership season - international breaks etc. really messing with the schedule, and our ability to bounce back. We have probably been given too much time to wallow, with big games like Spurs looming. And even then it's on a Sunday. Like to see some momentum now in the scheduling. A clear run at November is what is needed.
I'm not saying that we will beat you. Just saying that Swansea at home are games we have to win if we want to stay up. We do not have to beat Spurs to stay up.
To me we won't stay up if we keep playing as we are. QPR had a game plan and anly lost 1-0 to the Gooners and Norwich won 1-0. We lost 6-0. I am worried that we are too open and don't stay in the games long enough to give us a chance of nicking some points. Just relying on points from the other teams down there assumes that we are better than them and the neutrals would claim that we are not.
We lost 3-2 to City and 3-2 to United. City beat Norwich what, 6-1 last year? Swings and roundabouts. I don't believe comparing the fact that we lost to Arsenal more heavily than QPR/Norwich winning really has much backing on its own.
Steve Claridge, at St Mary's for BBC Radio 5 live sports extra: "I've never seen two more contrasting performances from one team. Incredible. We went from Southampton not having a shot or even barely a touch, to all of a sudden playing some decent stuff, having a go, creating some chances and eventually running out of time. But Southampton will be kicking themselves, because they left them 30 minutes of a 90 minute game to get something. But there is something there to build on for Southampton, because towards the end that was up there with the best football I've seen from the Saints. The first half was one of the worst I have ever seen from a team in the Premier League."
My favorite part part of the game was when Guly came on, some mug stood up and booed, but every one around him started shouting at him and calling him out, his face when every one was calling him a tosser was priceless. But yea expected to loose so not really bothered, we are just such an odd team. Need to find some consistency, its always a tale of two halves with us. Whatever we did tactically when mayuka came on, lets just play that please, good tempo to the team. Finally give Mayuka a start and mabye Gazza back in please!
