    Thats brilliant.

When you get what you want in your struggle for self
And the world makes you king for a day,
Just go to a mirror and look at yourself,
And see what that man has to say.

For it isn't your father or mother or wife,
    Who judgment upon you must pass;
The fellow whose verdict counts most in your life
Is the one starring back from the glass.

He's the fellow to please, never mind all the rest.
For he's with you clear up to the end,
And you've passed the most dangerous, difficult test
If the man in the glass is your friend.

You may be like Jack Horner and "chisel" a plum,
And think you're a wonderful guy,
But the man in the glass says you're only a bum
If you can't look him straight in the eye.

You may fool the whole world down the pathway of years.
And get pats on the back as you pass,
But your final reward will be the heartaches and tears
If you've cheated the man in the glass.

Much better than all the usual football cliches that normally get hoovered up.

Nigel Adkins can read, good stuff.

He's an absolutely top man and we wouldn't swap him for anyone in the whole world.

It makes me feel even more sorry for the Scunny fans, compare that with the cringey ****e that Knill comes out with after every loss.

I think it would have been better had he come out with some Ghostface style rap.

I like his approach to the game. Trouble is his boss.

I would not go that far at all. But NA got you where you are now and deserves his season in the sun regardless. Harry wont be an option. imo

Agreed. The modern day ""Atilla the Hun""

I think it's just a very long way of confirming that he's just very smug. He's an intelligent(ish) sort of bloke who, when he left Scunthorpe, had them fairly well established in the downward spiral that saw them relegated from the Championship. His constant prattling on about "little old Scunthorpe" always put me in mind of Uriah Heep and I bet it's an approach he is still peddling on Radio Solent (or whatever the local radio station is called). I suspect he'll still be going on about what an adventure it is for his relatively modest club to play in the World's top league as Southampton continue to slide back into the Championship.

You would have had money on the answer being:

"Well, we have to move on, get back in to training, and just look forward to the next game. We're taking each game as it comes."

Just watched his post match interview on the BBC website - the guy is full of ****e - always has been - went down to Southampton three times in our Championship days and they are a right set of deluded fans - will love it if they get relegated..

Gotta give Adkins credit for his managerial success - however I cannot stand him!
