What a load of ****e. In 30 years time gay couples adopting will be no more unacceptable than so-called straight couple adopting. It's just natural prejudice that stops you from understanding that. And not all of us are on here trying to be clever or righteous. Some of us work in politics to try and change the world to a more accepting place where your kind of casual bigotry is the exception rather than the rule. 70+ years ago people were arrested and thrown in jail simply for being gay and people accepted that as the norm. Now we have gay couples adopting and in time people will accept that as normal too.

Not my prejudice old boy. But anyway what about the poor kids who get bullied in the meantime? Is it worth their suffering for the sake of the parents? What about my view led you to believe I am a casual bigot? I only applauded someone else for considering the children concerned. And seeing as you work in politics, could you not try and accept other people's points of view with resorting to childish name-calling? Surely a politician should be able to do that? The difference was that in having gay sex, homosexuals were hurting no one. By adopting a child and possibly subjecting them to painful teenaged bullying they are hurting someone else. But as long as they get their equal rights eh? Nothing else matters does it?
I assume you're about 80 StereoTypist and have forgotten what it's like to be in high school. But wisdom and acceptance is something that comes with age, not something that can be drilled into adolescents by politicians (who are probably the people in the world they have the least respect and empathy for). Kids are generally defensive when they start high school and lash out against the vulnerable, a child with same sex parents would stand no chance, they'd be singled out for all kinds of abuse. This is nothing to do with any bigotry on my part, what people do with their lives is nobody's business but their own, it's the child who's been unwillingly drawn into the situation who my concern is for.
