I'd rather we play positively. Our defaencde is leaky and piling men back won't change that. All we can do is try to dictate the game and limit what they get in midfield.

I've seen a lot of positive comments today with people feeling we may get something, even the Spurs fans thinking so and then I come on here....

    ...and get.... "impending doom".

I just don't see us playing defensively it just not the Southampton way! Doesn't really matter who decided that, I prefer going for the win because you can spend 89mins holding out for a draw and still lose :)

    Boruc
    Clyne, Fonte, Yoshida, Shaw
    Davis, Schneiderlin, Ward-Prowse
    Puncheon, Lallana
    Lambert

My prediction for the game is either 2-1 or 4-3 :D We have to go for it 3 points! COYR's

Bale & Lennon are going to cause us so many problems, but other than that, I'm feeling quite upbeat. I think, actually no, I'm not looking forward to a close inspection of our poor unconfident under far too much pressure leaky.....but nice defence.

In War the best form of defense is attack! If Bale & Lennon spend most of there time defending I will be a happy man!

Just telling it like is! I think they're set up to perfectly exploit our biggest weaknesses and unless we plug those holes on the wings, we're going to get trounced.

Yes, or you can concede 4 in the first half like against Arsenal and spend 89 minutes wondering why we didn't think to defend at any point.

I'm not the doom and gloom type, I don't think we'll be relegated but some realism is required when playing against good teams.

Maybe Baby Bale had a bad night, maybe Aaron's hair-dresser cocked up his tram lines. We might just get something today.
    There positive, tough ask though.

We need to control the midfield. I'n my suggested formation I want us to play 5 in midfield to help in defence but we need to get as many up in advance positions to score goals.

There is not point worrying about our defence until January there is absolutely nothing we can do until we get in better defenders. I think we will ship goals but always got a good chance scoring more ourselves.

Has there ever been a team in the premier league who has gone a whole season conceding a goal in every game? lol I think we will still stay up even if we did :)

Wasn't a dig PTF, was just a joke!! I'm expecting at least a 3-1 loss but lets hope not.

I expect two main changes today.
    Seaborne and Mayuka to start.

Personally want us to attack and commit their full-backs with our own wide-men. Would be risky in the opening exchanges, as their full-backs would probably just go and it would be dangerous, but equally if they left out wingers on their own we would be very dangerous on the counter-attack, and it would only take a couple of threatening moments from us to make them stay at home.

Spurs are a very good team but a team that you can get at, and would like to see us do that, whilst being responsible defensively, but still having a strong attacking presence throughout the game.
