Lampard limped out of Tuesday's Champions League defeat at Shakhtar Donetsk with a recurrence of the injury he suffered before the international break and will miss Sunday's game against Manchester United, the Capital One Cup clash with the same opponents, a trip to Swansea and the Champions League return against Shakhtar. John Terry will serve the remainder of his racism ban in the first three of those games while Marko Marin is back after a minor injury. Player to Watch Eden Hazard United missed out on the Belgium star in the summer and so far hes shown exactly why Chelsea paid so much for him. Team News Manchester United United star Shinji Kagawa picked up a knee injury against Braga on Tuesday and faces four weeks on the sidelines, meaning he will miss Sunday's trip to Chelsea and the following weekend's encounter with Arsenal, plus the return Champions League game with Braga and his country's World Cup qualifier with Oman on November 14. Chris Smalling has returned to training after a broken metatarsal but Phil Jones (knee) and Anders Lindegaard (thumb) remain sidelined as United look to record their first Premier League win at Stamford Bridge since 2002. Player to Watch Robin van Persie Sir Alex believes van Persie can make the difference and his record at Stamford Bridge means Chelsea will have to be very wary of the Dutchman.
Hope for a win but the bridge is usually a tough place for us to get points. Wouldn`t be too disappointed with a draw, with a tough away game out of the way.
You missed out Mata and Oscar in the 'players to watch'... oh and Torres of course! No in all seriousness I hope it's a cracking game. I have a good feeling for Chelsea today and feel we might sneak a 3-2 win but one thing is for sure, never, ever take anything for granted against United. Should be a cracker.
Will Chavski stop UTDs superior attack, but will UTD stop Chavs superior midfield. Very much a game that can go either way.
Realistically getting a point away to another top 4 side is a good result. If we play with width I can see us winning by virtue of outscoring them. If we revert to through the middle crap we'll lose. Our defence is always shaky so lets go all out attack.
Succintly; Both defences are shaky as ****, both keepers occasionally dodgy and both attacks capable of special things. Comes down to two things; Their centre of midfield is way stronger than ours and our centre forwards are way stronger than theirs so to sum up, **** knows. I go for 3-2 United.
I hope SAF plays a more mobile midfield today without Scholes or Giggs, because if he does, I think the chelsea midfield will overwhelm any combination that has Scholes in it, plus Scholes is always a red card waiting to happen, and away at stamford bridge is the worst place to to take such a risk unlike at old trafford when one should have been given against stoke and he got away with it and you would have thought SAF would have substituted him at half time but he didn't which is a luxury Utd can't afford today.
Apparently Ashley Young and Valencia are starting today, so we'll have width. Sadly Ashley Young hasn't played much and when he has he's been quite poor. Valencia hasnt been great either, although he normally plays a blind against Chelsea.
Disagree, it's runs like those that we've looked susceptible too all year, glad someone tried to but a body in front of him.
