Not my place to say but I agree with a lot of what Flyer has said. I've nothing against Hughes and loved him as a player but if he is going to be sacked I think it has to be now. As disappointing a start as this has been for QPR, 3 points adrift is nothing at this stage. What wouldn't do the club any favours is to pick up a couple of wins and then if/when another bad run comes along sack Hughes further down the line. It's essential QPR have a settled squad and manager by early December at the latest
Let's look at facts rather than emotional responses - - under Hughes we have never won away - under Hughes we currently top the fouls conceded league and tge way it's going the red card table too - Hughes signed these players they were the ones he wanted - he's spent like mad and we're still bottom Lastly - under hugged we have never been higher than 17th At what point do you man up and say 'we got it wrong, he's the wrong man' All this 'we'll beat Southampton' stuff is way off the mark,w e need another 37 points, beating Alton alone ain't gonba be enough Go and go now, please
Anyone, dont make me laugh. If, who ever it was didnt win our first 5 games you,ll all be shouting "sack him". Still that method of hiring and firing managers seemed popular amonst us when Tango and Cash were in charge, maybe we should get them back.
I'm up for sticking by the manager until after reading and southampton but if we don't tonk the pair of them even i will have to admit that Hughes probably has to go. Seriously though - who comes in? I Can't think of a single candidate apart from Redknapp...and he really gets on my tits. ANd he's probably off to Blackburn. So if not him...who?
If you're worried about paying the wages yourself, relax. We're dealing with the Owners ego's here. Sack him, if he doesn't resign.
They got the right manager to do one part of the job but it took them 7 go,s to get there. Do you want to go down that road again.
74, I am in awe of you not being the least bit worried!! Mate, I'm feeling desperate. My poor QPR the laughing stock, yet again!! Nevertheless, Hughes has until end November for me. I have changed on one thing. I wish to never see SWP in Hoops ever again!
You seem to be just arguing for the sake of it. Were you there today? Did you think Hughes got the team and formation right? Are you happy with the fact that we've never been above 17th place with Hughes? Are you happy that we've never won an away game with Hughes? Are you happy with 3pts from our first 9 games? I haven't said he should go before today....but picking SWP in a 4-4-2 away at Arsenal and leaving Faurlin on the bench is the last straw for me. It will be a massive disaster if we go down, as the TV money is tripling next year and we will also struggle under the new financial rules in the Championship. We must stay up....we won't with Hughes imo!!
For what it's worth, most of you know that I am no fan of Hughes, never have been, never will be. He is tactically naive and doesn't inspire confidence expecially when he picks SWP ahead of Faurlin. We need a change AND quick. Guardiola is looking for a PL club in London!!!
So what youre saying is we should have stuck with any of those losers? None of us thought Magilton, Hart, dowie etc were going to be any good, the view on Hughes wasnt that good either. What you cant seem to work out is appointing the manager is totally separate to sacking the previous one. Is it right to sack Hughes? Yes. If we bought in Ince, McLeish or Jewell and they took us down then sacking Hughes would have still been the right thing but appointing any of those is wrong. We were right to sack all the T&C managers, we were wrong in appointing all of those except for Warnock.
Hughes is in the top 20 best paid managers in the world, so we are already paying world class money for a pub league manager, why not spend that world class money and get a world class manager?
Sorry to disagree Col,Imo he will turn it around and we will stay up.imo he is the right man for the job and yes I do agree he has made a few mistakes ie transfers etc.As for team selection there may be reasons behind that that we know nothing about so I am not going in heavy on that.
I despise the managerial merry go round as much as the next person, and i've always thought Hughes was a solid if unspectacular mid table manager (i.e just what rangers need). But it seems to me that if the next couple of games yield the same 'nearly but not quite' results (losing basically) you've got to ask yourself what is he doing wrong? It's something thats for sure. Some of it's bad luck I know but i feel now that tactically he's not good enough nor is he inspirational enough as a manager to get less good players playing beyond themselves. I don't want to panic but I can't help it....i'm fu**ing panicking! But again - who's replacing him? Paul Jewell - cant see it myself Ruislip (unless you were being ironic of course!)
