I will be creating my own little unique atmosphere here in my "den". Fueled with Leo beer I will be more animated than usual for today's game and I really hope to see Lambert looking seriously pissed off for more of the match
Ignore lambert in a gentlemanly way he is history we are now CH's green army the more we feed him the more he will take he loves confrontation so deny him it
Great from Holty. What I would like to happen is this: When PL comes out at the start all the City fans sing "Lambo, Lambo, give us a wave!", and give him a big round of applause. Then, at the end of the game, no matter what the result, repeat the same. If we have won the game, we'll have had all the satisfaction we could want. If we lose the game, we will have been dignified in defeat. And if we draw the game, we will still head home with a good feeling. But 3000 City fans will do what they want, so we shall see.
I just don't want the Norwich fans to end up like the bitter arseholes the Col Who fans turned into after he left them.
No, well done our fans. They didn't applaud him, just more or less maintained a dignified silence in that respect, and got behind the team. In consequence, as I said, we leave Villa Park with heads high and another point gained. Three would have been better mind! The context clearly got to the players; needed clearer heads on several occasions.
The best way. There wasn't much of a reaction to Lambert overall, just great support for Chris Hughton and the team, and thats how it should be. Dignified from the fans (apart from the idiot next to me who had a real go at Ryan Bennett for missing that late chance).
I just saw a bright light hovering over Norwich city centre. At first I thought it was a firework, or a UFO, but I soon realised it was neither -- it was the collective halo hovering over our returning fans, including, of course, jeremygoss. Again, well done to jeremy and the rest of them, and the team.
Completely agree. Our fans were top draw today. Much better to support the current manager rather than boo the old one. Thought the support for CH was excellent today. The Villa support on the other hand...there was none
Thanks Robbie. How we didnt win that game i will never know!! Dont worry I kept totally silent as Lambert walked out of the tunnel. Thought ignoring him would be more powerful than booing him, after that i worked very hard at losing my voice. was proud of our fans at 19 minutes and from what i saw we gave a good account of ourselves. Where the fk were the Villa fans, you could hear a pin drop from their end. Lambert may be a magician, but from what i saw he is going to need a miracle to keep that Villa team in the Prem. Felt like we dominated from start to finish!! Im so confident that im gonna stick a score on Villa being religated this season!!
jeremy. On BBC Radio, John Murray -- or whoever was commentating at the start -- said "Of course, we are going to keep our eye on the Norwich fans when Paul Lambert comes out". Obviously hoping for something to make an issue of. The disappointment was almost tangible. At that point the "expert summariser" observed that the sun was in the Canary fans eyes "So they probably didn't even see him." Well that explains it then! If it hadn't been for the sun the Norwich fans would obviously have been rioting! What total twats those people are -- and we pay their inflated BBC salaries.
i'd like to think we were very mature. most teams fans would have 'given him hell' - we just got behind our new manager. perfect response.
I did read somewhere that the silence showed a quiet respect for Lambert . Total bollox! It was simple, plain just ignoring him as though he didn't exist and far more powerful a statement by the travelling Canaries -well done the lot of them
I thought it was telling that the only person on the Villa bench to get any real stick was Darren Bent!
