Well if ever a game deserved to finish as a draw that one did, we looked the better side the first half and restricted their chances in the second , looking at the saves made between the three keepers I'd say hart was the busier.Tevez has too much time to get his shot away if that is to be a criticism but overall well pleased with the performance ,it's just a pity that the pundits and the ref could only see blue ,the amount of citeh indiscretions which went un punished compared to ours was incredible ,Rangel's yellow card was a poor referring decision (although I'd rather he missed the liverpool game than chelskis) and there was genuine unhappiness in the fact that citeh didn't put 6 past us ,in case they hadn't noticed we've earned the right to play in this league and to hear some of twaddles commentary made me want to vomit.
Some of his decisions didn't exactly seem fair (ref)!! To book Rangel for a blatant 'body-check' was shocking. Atkinson can be so frustrating at times... Also, could have at least given Dyer a warning first..... So proud of the lads, ALL of them. Deserved 'AT LEAST' a draw....
Absolutely, he took the ball!! But if the ref thought he saw it different, as he obviously did. He could have at least given Nathan a warning first, he'd only just come on ffs....
After just hoping the lads would keep a respectable score line before the game i felt a bit gutted we did`nt draw or nick it by the end. Our team was awsome against the so called elite of the prem. Davies ,Routledge and Michu shone as did most of the team and showed that theres nothing to fear from the big boys yet again , we will do some of the top 6 teams before seasons end if we keep playing like that and just get a bit of luck here and there . Vorm is a massive loss so i hope Tremel has an A game to bring to the table cause he and we will need him to excell now, The team is almost the complete article again just a bit of defensive strength in depth required .
This just in from Dutch media: "Vorm out till December" The Swans Goalie early diagnosis with a groin injury has been confirmed and the medical team expects him to be out for at least 6 weeks. Swans coach Laudrup comments that he hopes that Vorm can return on December first. An MRI scan has been scheduled tomorrow, after that the Swans medical team can see how bad the injury is. Laudrup said himself 5-6wks, when interviewed after the match. This was certainly not in the script...
Considering the array of "talent" that Citeh had on parade this afternoon, I think we stood tall and went toe-to-toe. We were beaten by a terrific strike from a terrific player from distance .... that you can argue we should have closed down ... but we didn't and there was game. But for all of their fire-power they caused us nothing above normal concern in our box and had no really clear chances. On the other hand, we had Michu slip away twice .... once was offside, the other required the Citeh keeper to be at his best. It's going to be a long and nail biting week. Cornell now goes on the bench. Michu is going to have a shiner the size of a grapefruit. Somebody has to step in for Rangel - Tiendalli or Jazz. If we go to Liverpool and play like this we'll beat them ... confident. BTW, not wanting to piss on Graham, but we really have ourselves a new center forward. The number of times today Michu got between the two Citeh center halves in the box was terrific .... crap - I'm beginning to sound like Rogers.
The best team in wales played better than the best team in england but lost to a bit of teves magic so easily could have gone our way so its all still good . and Michu has the makings of a swans legend . Routledge mom for us ?
Yeah, the commentry was all about how Manchester City didn't get going, seemed to not realise that our Swans were part of the game. However the comment at half time on ESPN about us being the "best team in Wales" was enjoyable. The fact I'm disappointed with a 1 nil defeat away to the champions shows how far we have come and just how good a team we have. I thought we easily deserved a draw tonight. Vorm had very little to do and Tremmel's only save he had to make was the last touch of the match - tha's basically 30 odd mins without having to make a save against the Premier Leagur Champions. Remember the 4 - 0 last season ? Look how much we have progressed. Well done my Swans - I am proud of you.
Very unlucky not to get at least a point. If we can sharpen up by 5% and be a little crisper with our passing, a solid top ten place is there for the taking. A bit disappointed with Ki for the goal to be honest. Had he moved with more urgency to get to Tevez, he might have least disrupted the shot. On another day we might have won this and I thought that it wouldn't have been unjust had we done so today. For the most part, the lads were great. Heart in my mouth a few times when we seemed to be under hitting passes and not moving the ball out of the danger area quickly enough. Other than that, difficult to find fault because we more than matched them. Full marks to Laudrup as well for his tactical nous. He, like the new additions, is starting to find his feet and you can see what he is trying to do. I predicted on a different thread that some team or other is going to catch a right hammering from us this season when things fall into place, and I feel even more confident about my prediction after today's game.
YES LOVED THAT COMMENT! We should remember that comment from an Independant Source when the time is right!
