Sandy, in case you peek in here...thanks so much for your plumber's details. We finally had our boiler done, for an exceptionally reasonable price, and he's done a fantastic job :).

Good morning all, bright and sunny but a distinct chill in the air today. There are reports that the Mistral is blowing in the Var, with winds of 100km/h. Also they have had heavy rain creating floods and two students at the University in Toulon have lost their lives when they were swept into a open culvert. <yikes>

I did see the forecast for the UK today which seemed to suggest the first cold snap of the winter. It looks as if local councils are well prepared for snow and ice, so think that overall it will be a mild winter.

What are the odds for a White Christmas in Watford? ;)

    Morning all

We actually have some sunshine...but a brief visit to the shops was a sharp reminder what cold weather's like. Will have to wrap up for pre-lunch walk...

    For your information Dan.

Rachael Heyhoe Flint, Baroness Heyhoe Flint, OBE, DL is probably the best known female cricketer in England. She was a member of the English women's cricket team from 1960 to 1982.

Anyone who likes a good read about the Hornets should really add 'Tales from the Vicarage' to their Christmas wish list. Eleven different writers have contributed to it, so each chapter is completely different.

David James and his life on the bench, Kevin Affleck lifting the lid on Aidy and the strange goings on behind the scenes, Ollie Phillips charting his sixty years following the team and an unofficial biography of GT that shows us what the Watford Way really is. There is much more for me still to read, but already I can say that it is well worth £9.99

Good day all, bright sunshine but cold here today. 8C is not expected at his time of year, although in the south east of the country they have had snow.

All Saints Day here is a public holiday, with a second one coming up on the 11th. Chrysanthemums are being sold in all the garden centres and supermarkets to take to the cemeteries. Go into one on the 1st November and it will be a blaze of different colours as families go to remember their ancestors. We were wondering why all the cemeteries in France seem to be surrounded by a 3M high wall and suspect it might have been to keep wild animals out, but don't really know.
