aye, and there are plenty of changes i'd like to see mon make as we have the squad to mix things up a bit, but on the other hand benching one of the star players of last season, a player who was voted into the premier league team of the year, and a £10m summer signing and england international will mean they never play their way into form. i'm not saying those three should be untouchable, but i can see why he's doing it.

i was chuffed when i saw sess dropped today, thinking that would mean saha starting with fletcher, but instead we played with two defensive midfielders and larsson. MON seems to have lost his mojo a bit, and is relying on his top players to help him out, which fletch and the defence aside, they aren't doing.

what I meant was he is poor in terms of he isn't very adventurous, Fletcher and Johnson wer quality signings but all the signings he made if we had said the day the season finished who do u think he will go for I bet there would of been plenty saying Cuellar, Fletcher and a few saying Johnson.

He isn't the sort of manager that will pluck a star out of the dutch league or france and thats my problem with him in the transfer market, the value for quality players in the prem is way overpriced and now we need quality over quantity are we gunna overpay on a player when there will be players playing in europe who are just as good if not better and cost half as much.

Fair points mate but, when do we start to think enoughs enough and drop the so called star players? as we are now 7 games in with these players and they have done jack. Johnson has flattered to decieve, McClean has played like a dead horse all season and Sess is going beyond a joke.
Not sure myself if it is the players or the tactics or a mix of both but, something has to give. No doubt we'll beat Boro on Tuesday (just mind) then all will be hunky dory again.

i'd like to see us go for it against the poorer teams in the league, and play saha up front with fletcher, gardner and cattermole in midfield and two of johnson, sessegnon and larsson the wings. i'd drop maclean for now as his confidence looks shot and he's a waste of a shirt - when the others hit form and we start to pick up wins he can come back in, as defences won't double up on him if they are also facing an in-form johnson and sess.

we've got a skewed perspective on today's result given our run and lack of wins, but you know what? a point at the brittania is a good point. we're not in a relegation battle, and in mon's first season at villa he guided them to 11th before things really took off. all the best managers in the league have been given time to get it right, and that's what MON needs.

very good post and puts things into perspective

Whats gone wrong thats what I want to know

when Martin took over we played quick counter attacking football and hurt teams but why are we not doing it this season?

Do we miss Bendtner, can't we play that way with Fletcher or what but we need to get back to getting the ball and breaking as quickly as we can and with a purpose

so far this season it has been poor but we have only lost 1 game! I really hope it clicks soon because I really want MoN to be here for a long time, I do think we could be in for a busy January, we need 2 central midfielders and thats just for starters

as for McClean, put him back in the reserves for a couple of games, the lad needs a kick up the backside and to get some form

He's only had one summer mate, he's said himself he's been to watch players abroad so it's not as if he's ignoring the foreign Market completely.

Change the manager, perhaps Allardyce, Mick Buxton, George Burley or Lawrie Mackemenemy with jump at the chance - do honestly think anyone who is half decent would come to a club where he will be given just over a season to turn things round.

Alex Ferguson and Clough would have been out of a job if we use the rules that seem to be applied to MoN at the minute.

I share and empathise with the frustrations, but a change of manager is not the answer (unless MoN thinks enough is enough) - when has changing our manager ever brought tangible success in the Premiership - never, just more of the same - we have to refuse to scratch this itch.

We need to get Gardner and Vaughan into midfield, drop Colbeck and Maclean(former is too much like Cattermole and the latter badly out of form).

It doesn't matter how it is dressed up. The enjoyment of watching our team attack has hardly been around this season, has it? Worst team in the league and I don't care how many points we have. Every other team poses some sort of attacking threat... us.... none. We'll stuff Boro and be in the last * of the LC and that will deflect criticism but not alter the fact we're crap. Please, God, help us soon, Amen.

Football is the simplest sport in the world. The sole object of the game is to put the ball in the back of the net more times than the other lot.

Now if the way you play isn't even giving you a chance to do that even once, then the answer is so ****ing simple.

    Change the bastard.

What's so complicated about that ffs?

It still doesn't mean he's not poor though, does it? Why did you spend so much money on two positions when you desperately needed to sign players in other areas aswell?

They may be great players individually (even though I don't rate Johnson that highly) but you've used pretty much all of your budget on these two players. Hardly great transfer business by O'Neill and your club?

I haven't got any wish for MON to be replaced yet, not at all, but the question about call for change, the answer is 4 weeks ago.

MON must accept that his system is simply not working with the personnel we have at the club, and he should look at bringing in a number 2 of his choice to help develop a plan B & C.

He's easily the best man for the job still, but whilst I'm home in the cold I'd love to see us actually play some nice stuff.

I'm utterly ****ed off with people on here telling others they are whinging twats and such, people spend THOUSANDS watching the lads and have every right to criticize, remember, whoever owns the deeds, the club will ALWAYS be hours.

If people want to nod like dogs and go along in perfect agreement & harmony with their heads up their arses then that's fine, but don't be havong a pop at those who prefer to confront the issue and call a spade a spade.

1 in 15 is shambolic and there is no sign of improvement, anyone who doesn't feel a change is needed, is bordering on insane.

A number to for a second overview, retaining MON's wonderful man management skills (although I have to remove motivational from this given the slump of some top players) and on we go.

MON retains my backing, well 99.99% of it, but if I start to **** something up, I'm glad someone tells me so I can resolve it.
