If I'm honest this is a tough one.

I'd put downing in a) to give him confidence, b) to give Enrique a kick up the rear, c) if downing does well increases our chance of selling him on.

Enrique is the better defender but downing may do well there

You could have the best LB in history there but if he's under orders never ever never to lump it in emergencies they're going to make mistakes. Downing's error across the box on Thursday was hardly a surprise and not as much his fault as BR's style. We were lucky Anzhi were pish because they look capable on any other night and showed that when we meet a team who also press high we're in trouble.

PMK - you underestimate Rogers. He has nothing to learn from LFC. Look and listen and by this time next year you may understand what is going on. I wont respond to your cheap shot.

Genre - you r right about a striker. Borini was a mistake. He was good for Swansea - in the Championship.

Well he did enough for Roma, in the Serie A, to make the Italian National team. I just think he is young and is going to be our Kuyt ( works hard, bit more pace, pop in with a goal here and there).

There are some posters on here that are already convinced that Borini is the root of all evils and that he is never ever ever going to get better. A bit like Lucas. Forget that in certain games he's the only player that dared run into the box, forget that in some games he's been the only one taking shots (on target too). Forget that he's always making himself open, and yet he won't be passed to. Yeah he hasn't been fantastic but who really has?

Of course, we should forget that and let the Italians know that he's not good enough for them.

And that he hasn't really played through the middle yet. Btw, my partizan brethren put up a picture of Zanetti and one of the players and under it had legend ( from the Europa game). What did he say or do?

The game he did play he looked sharp and lively.

I'm not sure, it's entirely possible that your friend is an Inter fan on the side, or just really likes Zanetti. A lot of our players look up to them (we had loads of teenagers playing) and so even seeing a player like Zanetti show a thumbs up or talking to one of our players positively can really make an impression on them.

    It wasn't a cheap shot.<laugh>

Swansea are Swansea and Brendan has got to do a better job for us than he did for the Swans, don't forget PGF your clubs target(according to the posters on your board)last season was survival in the prem and if you think that's the limit of our expectations you're off your head mate.

We've sacked managers with better track records than Brendan that won things Swansea can only dream of, so where does your comparison between the clubs come from?, i pointed out that even in our worst season for almost half a century it was still better than Swansea's.

How was that a cheap shot?, in fact you saying 'he has nothing to learn from LFC' is a cheap shot.<grr>

Enrique is starting to get back to his best I feel plus his attacking play is improving. He plays some great balls over the top to Sterling, and he can whip a decent ball in when he's playing as the winger. Wouldn't write him off just yet ...

He's featured in a couple of games and they were both encouraging. As mentioned earlier, I said he is 'starting' to get back to his best (in my opinion).

  16. Still don't see how you can say that when he has only played (and not completed) two games. I do know what you mean though, he has done well in those appearances <ok>
