Norwich by far the better side even with 11v11. Shame we didn't win but I see more positives than negatives. It was an away game afterall and in my eyes any point away from home is a point won rather than 2 lost.
Never mind, now going to watch the Arsenal v QPR game, hopefully the Gooners can cheer me up a little
Villa really are ****e, how we didn't win that I will never know! They should have been down to 9 men (Herd foul was blatant yellow, would of been his second). I think we should have had a penalty and we has enough clear chances to win that (Holt, Snodgrass, Hoolahan).
Woeful from a rampant City towards the end. Pilk's corner, Snoddy's free kick and Wes punt forward deep in injury time. We took one point where there were three available today.
Maybe we could have won, but I think we will be another point away from the bottom 3 tonight. We currently have a 3pt gap to the bottom 3. As I posted around this time last year, a good weekend for us is not necessarily based on our own result. Any weekend where we either maintain or extend that gap is a good weekend. Ay weekend it reduces is a bad one. Lets see what those below us do this afternoon...
Like everyone else, my first feeling is disappointment. We have now had four games - QPR, West Ham, Tottenham, Villa - where we were the better team and only came away with a draw. We can't go on doing this. Also, as many of you have said, Villa were truly awful and there for the taking.
I'd be more worried if we were being outclassed every week and scraping points here and there. We are very close to being a very decent side. It is now down to Hughton to find the missing piece of the jigsaw, be it a player or a system or even just working on certain things in training.
I loved the yellow army's very loud "there's only one Chrissy Hughton" towards the end. In fact the Villa fans were as quiet as church mice for 99% of the match.
a point is better than no points. but norwich were the better team and you must turn them draws into wins and you will be fine....Im glad lambert didn't win anyway and he is the manager who is hanging on by a thread for his job.....He should have stayed with you. never mind its his problem now managing a much worse team......Did he ever get his £2 million he cheekily tried to get off you...hope not..
Snodgrass was awful when he came on. Trying too hard, perhaps. And why no place for Fox, even on the bench? The game was crying out for someone like him who could pick out a pass. It seems a shame if the modern game can't accommodate a player with vision like that. Tettey looks good, but he needs discipline. Far too many wasted balls from the midfield (mainly Johnson) which would be punished against a decent team. I find Johnson a totally frustrating player. He breaks up play so well, then wastes what he has achieved with a careless pass. We should have won.
It goes to show how people can watch the same game and have differing opinions. I thought Snoddy had a few good touches when he came on lol
Got up early to watch the game on the TV. A point is ok, but we could so easily have had 3. Thought the delivery from dead balls was poor (except the goal) and we gave the ball away in midfield too often which a better team than Villa would have exploited. Wes deserved Man of the Match (on the TV at least) and was our bright spark. Villa should most likely have ended up with 9 men, given the blatant yellow for a foul on Wes which was not given. The Villa keeper and centre backs did well.
That was quality and to be honest just about the only chant I could make out in the entire game! It certainly put a smile on my face
