MON won't drop McLean, as he clearly has photographic evidence of him in a compromising position. Hope else could he continue to play despite his form AND the club fetching someone over from Ireland to keep him off the piss? I'd love to see that side, although I'd probably dump Sess for Saha as well, Sess at 5 ft 5 will find it difficult today to say the least.
I want a Bentley and a big house mate and, I reckon there's more chance of that than MON dropping McClean.
It's true mind.... Sess could be a weapon of the bench today, Huth & Shawcross are a superb pairing, playing 1 up top will get us nowhere. Saha could be really useful with his touch, link & aerial play, but we know full well it will be 'same again'.
Agreed with MON keeping the same team for the derby but he has to change it today. Its simply not working. I think it mainly stems from the role sess plays. 2 up top for me, play sess in a different position eventually but drop him for now. Mclean on the bench, as I think he is a good impact player against tired legs.
I'm with MM, Saha up front with Fletch could be a very handy pairing, both good in the air and both good at holding and link up play. MON will probably go 1 up top though and string 5 across the middle, i hope i'm wrong and we go for it today. Difficult game but we are more than capable of winning it if we set out with the right team/strategy.
MMs right get Saha on with Fletch, I would also put JC at LB, Danny R at left wing leaving both Sess & McLean on the bench. Good subs to be brought on if necessary and it gives them the kick up the ar*e they both need.
