Singersongwriter is an interesting runner in the first at Doncaster. By first season sire Ravens Pass out of Independence, this is a filly from the family of Reference Point, He loved the soft, if she is wound up she could go in at an attractive price.

Fascinating that G Lee has the mount.

Cracking stuff on the Reveley horses Dan <applause>

Next time you're having a pint with James could you ask him if they've got any exciting novices which might be expected to go in first time out? Be nice to get a bit of info if they've got a good 'un in the yard <ok>

    Big Mac kicking off

According to Channel 4, I'm being sacked after audience research. Yes, I do antagonise people, as reactions to being twice in the Celebrity Big Brother house and also on Coach Trip prove.

"Yet, as Clare Balding, a terrific choice to lead the new young team, said recently, I've become the face of racing alongside Frankie Dettori, and now of course Clare herself.

"It is so sad that Channel 4 boss Jay Hunt and production chief Carl Hicks, both long-time BBC executives, have again gone down their well-worn path of ageism."

Its not ageism that has Big Mac farmed out to retirement, its called get with the times and update the format...

We all have a shelf life, and his time has come... Its the same for any presenter on any other show... Im not bothered he's gone but i wont start saying bring him back either...

Tour Dargent lacks the scope for fencing at a decent level.

Deliberate and ponderous and back to timber now I would say after that.

    Afternoon chaps
My two for today are Alpine Breeze and had a cheeky ew on Oddy's longpot Cheshire Prince.

Question: Alipne Breeze shows at 7's and 8's most places but 16-1 on 32Red - what's the catch?

Edit - down to 9.5 now - must have been a swiftly taken chance!
