Mark Hughes? How much have had you had?

I lost a lot of respect for him over the Lescott saga, and how the smug **** generally behaved when he managed City. No sympathy at all when he got sacked.

I have faith in Pardew for the next few years. He knows what he's doing tactically and as long as he spends sensibly and doesn't lose the dressing room I think he'll do a good job. After that it's Lee Clark all the way. He's done a good job at Huddersfield, it looks like they might miss out on auto promotion again but hopefully they can get the job done in the playoffs.

This ^. Pardew to see out his contract and hopefully do a decent job. Jigsaw to do an apprenticeship with Huddersfield (hope they get promoted too) and then take over and take us to glory.

PS - does anybody else still call Lee Clarke Jigsaw or am I being an old fart living in the past?

If Hughton gets some more experience at another Prem club, then I'd jump at the chance to have him back.

Only reason I plumbed for Lambert ahead of Clarke is 'cause Clarke has split the Huddersfield supporters right down the middle, some like, some absolutely hate him...There has to be a reason for this?

In a few years time when he's been proven, maybe Gus Poyet?

I hope Pardew's here for a while so we have some stability and relative success and he leaves on good terms. When he does go, I'd like us to try and get Lee Clark. Failing that if Shearer has had a lower league job and got some experience and looks good then give him another go (assuming we get shot of Ashley). Would also take Hughton back any old time he likes <ok>

Well he's bezzy mates with Dennis Wise so..... <whistle>

But Lee Clark is 100% Geordie, I'd love to see that happen but on managerial merit rather than emotional.

Aldridge as IWCHT says I also had no idea Dennis Wise and Gus Poyet were best buds, when I saw Poyets name I thought how did I overlook him but unfortunately, an affiliation with Mr Wise changes things.

Poyet and Wise were teammates at Chelsea, and then they both managed Leeds together. I think (it might just have been rumours) that Wise was trying to get Poyet here when he was director of football (football), or whatever his ridiculous title was.

Personally the link doesn't bother me, Poyet is a decent bloke and we all have at least one mate who's a tosser. I'm interested to see how he does in the Championship, it takes a different set of skills to be successful when you're managing a club in the lower end than a club at the top. Of course, the way Brighton have torn up League One there's nothing to suggest they won't emulate Norwich.

I'd let Joe Harvey do it through a medium, say Oda Mae Brown, I think that combination would pretty much guarantee a trophy.
