This was retweeted by Jack Stephens, haven`t checked it out but if true it is most impressive. https://twitter.com/BBCSporf/status/261542177354678272/photo/1
That is impressive. Shame for Ajax that all the talent is sold from the Eredivisie these days. I suppose it must be good for their financial security, but disheartening for the fans.
Never fear, I heard he has already told Les to prepare the whip for the 40 lashes Jack will be receiving tomorrow morning in Southampton High Street.
I suppose a way to make more loot, they could let us pay to watch the training sessions, seems to be more thud and blunder than the real games.
Certainly impressive stuff. They should be very proud if those figures are even remotely true. I think West Ham and Southampton can be very proud of our recent successes with bringing through youth but this really is quite something. I suppose it's a shame that none of them will stick around in the Dutch league to see how good they could really get.
Basically, total cost of Ajax's first team vs Man City was £2.75M with £2.5M of that coming from 1 player and 6 players from the academy, in comparison the cost of Man City's team was £187.5M... and Ajax won 3-1.
Oh Man City, single-handedly representing about 80% of everything that's wrong with football at the moment.
