BlackburnRovers V WatFord please log in to view this image please log in to view this image In this weeks fixture Watford make the 200 mile trip to Ewood Park to face highflying Blackburn Rovers. Its the Rovers vs the Hornets, its Eric Black vs Gianfranco Zola. Its 5th against 15th. These two teams have met 15 times at Blackburn, with Rovers edging the results with 6 wins to Watford's 4. The pair have drawn 5 times. Blackburn also edge the goals per game ratio 1.73 to 1.07. Can the hornets buck the trend and make it 5 wins. Last meeting The last meeting between Rovers and the Orns was way back in 2007 when Watford were last in the premiership. It was not a good day as the Hornets went down 3-1. LAST TIME OUT Blackburn overcame Sheffield Wednesday 1-0 at Ewood park with Hanley scoring the winner in the 5th minute. Blackburn caretaker manager Eric Black on the search for a new manager: Watford were denied a deserved point on the road at Cardiff after being down to 9 men for almost 30 minutes. Watford manager Gianfranco Zola: " BLACKBURNPossible line up Robinson; Orr, Martin Olsson, Givet, Dann; Murphy, Dunn, Pedersen, Etuhu; Rhodes, Kazim-Richards Photo gallery Grant hanley. WATFORD Possible line up (with suspensions this is an educated guess) Almunia, Hall, Doyley, Hoban, Cassetti, Thompson, Abdi, Hogg, Yeates, Forrestieri, Deeney Photo gallery . Hoban celebrates. Pudil is one of the players suspended BHD's prediction- I think this will be another tight one and who ever wins will do so by one goal. All thats left to say is safe travels to those making the trip and ENJOY THE GAME!!!!!
good one Dan, thanks! I wish i could get there, but i'm going to have to be on the match thread, and listening to Jon Marks, and screaming at the radio and driving my poor family bonkers...hey ho! Time to reverse the prem result...i'm going for a 1-3 Watford win ...how shocked are you?
I will be listening in too. I hate these games as my mind runs wild. However it does mean I get the wonderful insight from Jon Marks.
Cheers Dan !! I can only see this going one way, Watford to win by two goals. Time for our turbulent season to take another twist. I hope the ref leaves his cards at home too !!!
Wash your mouth out H!! I have a good feeling about this game. Even though Blackburn are 5th, their recent form is not particularly impressive. If the ref doesn't listen to the local fans and he keeps his cards in his pocket, this game is there for the taking for us.
sorry, but i expect the odds wouldn't be that good anyway! lol i agree though, i think, will 11, we can take this game
Why such pessimism? Cardiff were top and unbeaten at home. Better than Blackburn, And there was a strong possibility that we could have won had we had eleven men for the whole game. I don't believe that because Blackburn were a (rubbish) premiership club last year that they will therefore win every home game as is confirmed by their's, Bolton's and Wolves' home records this season. I think we now have a squad to produce a team that is capable of getting a result at any away ground in this league. So I am going for 2-1 to the golden boys.
Good work Dan, work has finally quietened down enough for me to start posting again. I think that we will come out all guns blazing tomorrow after the disappointment of losing so late at Cardiff. I keep reading on here that at some point we are going to give some team a good hiding, so I feel tomorrow is that day . 0-3 to the travelling Hornets. COYH!!!
Good to see that Saturday's ref - Carl Boyeson - has no straight reds issued this season. So far, that is.
is that good news BB? Maybe he thinks it's about time he gave one! Great to see you'll be around more Sandy
