In that case: Amos Rosenior Chester Faye Dawson Elmo Evans Koren Quinn Simmo Aluko Looks a little weak in the middle of the park but they're leaking goals, I think that team would outscore them. I believe Adomah plays right-wing, I don't rate him personally but he is quick. Perhaps another reason to consider Townsend.
I'd go: Amos Elmo Chester Faye (if fit, if not Macca) Townsend Aluko Evans Olly Quinn Prossy Simpson Oxley Rosie Daws McKenna Devitt McLean McShane/Cooper
Amos Rosenior Mcshane Chester Dawson Elmo Evans Oli Quinn Aluko Simpson Subs: Oxley Faye Mckenna Prozzy Mclean Devitt I'm assuming Koren & Dudgeon are not fit.
Bad news about Dudge, he'd really hit the ground running this season. Hopefully it may not be as bad as we fear.
I get what the OP is saying about McKenna and Oli needing a rest, but Evans just isn't good enough for me. He's the McLean of the midfield - what use is being fresher than the other 2 if he's just going to lose possession constantly? I agree with dj that we look a bit better with the 3-5-2 but we don't really have the players at the moment with Dudgeon injured so it'll have to be a back 4. Actually thinking about it, if Dawson is covering so much ground lately, why can't he do that role? Amos Elmohamady Chester Faye Bruce Dawson Koren Oli Quinn Simpson Aluko That's been our best team so far this season (well, if you swap Dudgeon for Dawson obviously) so if they're all fit I'd like to see us go back to that, take the game to them and give them a beating.
I covered that in my post. If he's covering 13k a game, why can't he play wing-back? He can cross relatively well and find those overlapping positions. I don't see why he couldn't do it.
I agree to be honest, he's always looked pretty decent going forward, and covers a lot of ground. The only problem is he's already played 2 matches in a week, a third might one step too far, which is why I put Townsend in my team. Would be typical of Daws to start and prove everyone wrong yet again by having a stormer Saturday though.
according to The Fail Koren will be back http://www.thisishullandeastriding....Bristol-City/story-17186799-detail/story.html and the Dudge needs an op http://www.thisishullandeastriding....months-weeks/story-17186800-detail/story.html
I don't think Dawson could play wing back because he far too slow. It's not just about ability to get forward and cause a few problems,?the most important thing is the speed to get up and down the pitch as you have to. If we get hit on the counter attack, Dawson probably wouldn't even have reached the halfway line when the ball goes in the net.
Must people have seem to have forgotten Koren is back for the game, and after the Middlesborough game, we must play our best players every game. He must start!
I like your thinking. But my back 3 would be Chester - Faye and McShane(with Dawson to come on in 2nd half) midfield would be Elmo - Evans - Oli - McKenna - Quinn with Simpson and Aluko up front. subs: GK ? - Townsend or Cooper - Rosenoir - Bruce - Dawson - Mclean - Proschwitz
Amos Elmo Chester Macca(Faye if fit) Dawson Evans Koren McKenna Quinn Aluko Simpson Townsend must get 15-20 minutes surely if Dudgeon is out long term. If we are a bit more daring perhaps Amos Chester Faye Bruce Elmo Koren Evans Quinn Townsend Aluko Simpson
Wonder if Bruce made a statement on Tuesday starting Proschwitz and will keep faith with him? Would sooner see Aluko and Simpson together.
