Well he was hardly going to score "Massive Points" or a win with it as the bucket it started out as. He's a racing driver, not a bloody magician. As for fastest car in the second half... that's debatable. He deserves credit for getting it in the points so early on if you ask me.
He'd do as well as any driver who is given a **** car for a whole seaon. ****! When you look in the past at great drivers who have been given ****e cars, very few have got genuinely good results out fo them without a massive slice of luck. A driver can only have so much influence. Vettel/Alonso in a HRT would still not be able to score points as even if they were 1.5/2 secs per lap quicker than de la Rosa, they'd still barely get out of Q1. In truth, neither Alonso, Vettel or Hamilton have ever had a crap car for a whole season. Alonso when he was in the Minardi for his first year showed potential, but was no where near the points at any stage, but he always knew it didn;t matter as Flabio had him lined up for Benetton/Renualt so it was just a learning year for him.
Minardi were never anywhere the points...well the old points system. Just shows how bad the new teams are as they cant get anywhere near the top10
Yet Webber scored points in his first race with Minardi, Dum Dum DUMMMMMM! Don't worry I'm just causing controversy here
So Webber is better than Alonso. Does that make him better the Vettel, in which case does that make Webber better than Di Resta!!??
Maybe, but Di Resta got beat by Sutil who got beat by, Lewis who got beat by Jenson who got beat by Rubens who got beat by Schumacher who got beat by Rosberg who got beat by Webber who got beat by Vettel. What was the subject we were on about again?
Or you could turn that around and say how much reliability has improved. The last couple of seasons having less than 15 finishers has been rare, whilst a decade ago getting under 10 finishers wasn't too uncommon. Let's face it, Minardi rarely, if ever, scored points by being competitive, they scored points by still being running at the end of eventful races the majority of the time.
Don't like Seb being top in FP1, it's mostly cursed when heading into the other practice sessions and qualifying.
