My secretary just said "His German is very good, I bet he learned it from a young age". I've just sent her home for the day.................
I think this is being blown out of proportion really. McLaren at no time at all - so far as I'm aware - struck a deal. It seems to me that Waters is the only person who should be in the spotlight. On top of that, the perception of Libya was very much different 16 months ago, when such a proposal would have barely rustled the pages of a newspaper. One must remember the first principals of a newspaper: they must sell them.
'One must remember the first principle of a newspaper: they must sell them. Which is why I've always thought when a newspaper is found lying with inadequate checking out of a story about someone, they should have a ban for a period of days.
I've read that story a few times now and I'm fairly sure it all comes down to carrots giving you cancer. Thats the general gist of most Daily Mail stories anyway
Cosicave. 'I turned my back on newspapers long ago - along with the rest of the media! ' - The more I read your views the more you have my respect. I do read a lot but remain pretty cynical about most of it.
Ha! Well, thanks Bergkamp. Respect is always welcomed but I should admit that perhaps I was influenced: an 'ex' was/is a journalist. - Then again, my attitude towards journalism probably contributed to our parting of the ways!
Ah - how long before Kate Middleton says the same thing and then is bumped off in a Parisian tunnel? Young love is so bittersweet.
My attitude towards journalism is that it does a worthwhile job enlightening the public - however, it HAS to be researched and as truthful as possible. If it is cheap scurrilous tittle-tattle, or worse, libel, then the publishing arm should be banned for several days according to a judge's view of damage done. Invasion of privacy also has to be tightened up.
Well, it should do but it's a very, very long time since the Fourth Estate has fulfilled its democratic obligation. It's kind of charming that someone should bring up the responsibility of the media these days. Makes me feel all Snow White or Sleeping Beauty.
As the psychiatrist says - whats the first thing that comes into your head when I say- 'Media' you say 'Sleeping beauty'. Well that will get them scratching their heads.
the word i think of when i hear 'media' is propaganda. All of a sudden super-injunctions have made the news, I don't think most people care tbh, but it deflects the 'we hack your phones' heat away from Mr Murdoch and puts it on his potential victims. Cameron is obviously his lap dog, no surprise there though, Murdoch has owned every political party in power since I was born.
I want to say "no comment", but Miggins; it would be quite wrong to ignore the points you makeââ¬Â¦
