Alrite peeps, I am really looking forward to the game V Birmingham at the weekend. As I look back to the end of last season when they took advantage of us, and took Townsend away from us, thinking it would help secure their promotion, and look at them now, hovering just above relegation <gloat>. I do have to admit that had they turned a couple of losses into wins, they too would be hovering just below the play offs. How many points will it take for automatic promotion this season? How many points will it take to get to the play offs? Is Warnock better equped than Grayson, should we get to the top six? Stoke boss Tony Pulis has ruled out a possible loan switch for Kenwyne Jones, but Jerome could be allowed to leave the Britannia Stadium after making just three substitute appearances in the Premier League this season. The 26-year-old has started just seven league games in total for the Potters since a £4million switch from Birmingham City last summer, and he now finds himself behind Peter Crouch, Jon Walters, Michael Owen and Jones in Tony Pulis' pecking order.Leeds are among the clubs to have been linked with a move for the former Cardiff forward after Pulis confirmed Jones would not be leaving.
Morning Elland guys/gals I need to see a reaction against brum, because the performance Tuesday night was crap, and it needs sorting out and fast. As far as loan signings are concerned, I don't really want rejects like Jerome. I want Warnock to be able to go out and get that 'cherry on the cake' signing we've been waiting for. I want GFH to get off the pot and do something or fook off and leave the way open for someone who is willing to get this club back into the prem
Morning All, I agree with Doc. It could be a huge, expensive gamble with Jerome. How long ago was it when he scored regularly? How regularly did he score when he was on top form? How long before he gets his touch & confidence back? Sadly, there are no positive answers to these questions, so I don't think we should blow our load on him.
Jerome is a quality player not getting a look in! I think he would be a great signing, got pace, can finish and he will be dropping down a level. I would take him tomorrow
Morning Elland, morning all Agree Doc we need to up our game against the brum, we are not gonna keep picking up points playing the way we are. I expected Warnock to get into the team from the touchline but he seems pretty quiet to me. We are crying out for pace up front and some passing would help instead of just lumping the ball forward all the time. Hope they are working hard to get Halls fitness up want to see what he offers. So NW is off groveling to Bates for loan signings, it wasn't long ago he said our only signings would be for a view to permanent in Jan. Has that changed and would Bates sanction more wages, i wait with bated breath. As for GFH i still feel this will have a positive outcome, Haigh and Patel have gone quiet of late maybe they are working hard to get TOMA finalised. Dare to dream eh
We have left it too late to get anybody else though, if Jerome is the best available at this time, surely we should go for it....
Morning Elland. Boggers is actually having to work a bit at the moment. Terrible I know, but there we go. If we can get Jerome & play Hall at some point on Saturday, it has to give us more attacking options than we showed on Tuesday. Let's hope for a marked improvement. Brum will come to play footy & are unlikely to park a bus given that they have plenty of attacking options, as the 'Wall found out on Tuesday. Should be a good game - 2-2 anyone?
Good for him. Always said that was his Level. I dont think anyone would take a punt on him again in the Championship no matter what his return this season is. Seems an honest enough player though so I wish him all the best
