why did you choose to exclude the far more important stat of shots on target then?

It's hard to give TopTitToon any credence when he is still trying to say that they were real golf balls that were thrown on the pitch..What an utter cock he is..

Luck is what you make - you Earn luck (that's what we keep getting told)! But can anyone honestly say that there was no luck involved with Newcastles' goal? Let's look at the fact that Danny Rose played a ball up the wing which McCLean would've got to had he not fallen over - he slipped which opened up the door for HBA (I thinnk) who threaded the ball to Ba. Ba then took a shot from a ridiculous angle which bounced off Mignolet and coould've gone anywhere - but it fell straight to Cabaye with an open goal.

Now our goal - Definite foul definite free-kick. Well delivered free kick into the right area - deflected off Demba Ba and went in - one little slice of luck compared to the 2 for Newcastle's goal - so we were probably less lucky than the mags when you look at it like that

i don't believe I've said that since the suggestion first came out 2 days ago, so care to clarify? And how about answering the questions as to why you chose corners as a stat to use, but left out shots on target, or are you admitting that was a moment of stupidity?

Possibly the worst statement I've ever read on this forum.

Yeah it was luck that Rose slipped (bad luck for you, good luck for us), but the ball was on the half way line. Simpson then played a perfectly weighted pass to Ben Arfa, who then did the same for Ba, Ba had a decent shot that that Mignolet well to block. Yes it fell to Cabaye, you could deem it luck or you could deem it bad defending from your midfield for not tracking a runner, Cabaye's shot was then ON target.

Sunderland's goal was from a free kick that was correctly awarded, no arguments with that. But O'Shea's header was going OFF target until Ba diverted it in, there was no build up to your goal, no decent passed just a floated ball in to the box (which we should have defended better) and a poor header from your centre half.

We only had the one phase to stop your goal, you had about four to stop our's. Having said all goals amount to the same no matter how they were scored so it's a pointless debate.

But for the OP to disagree/take issue with Simpson's statement that your goal was lucky, well I find that strange.

I'm pretty sure Bordeaux would win the Championship and League 1 at a canter and would probably finish from 10th-14h in the Prem <ok>

Let's get this straight, you (Newcastle fans) think that despite completely dominating the second half, doesn't matter if you were a man down, that we didn't deserve at least a point?

You're saying you deserved to win? Right...:steam:

If this "domination" had involved you registering more than a 30 yard trickling free kick on target then maybe <ok>

Regardless, you cannot say that you deserved to win with worse stats than ours.

And if you do then I don't really care, just know you're a twat.

Our stats weren't worse than yours. Making chances and taking them are the name of the game. You didn't make one. Volley for Saha into side netting was the best you could muster. Even 90% of mackems acknowledged we deserved the win, but it doesn't really matter because we didn't win. You used to be a class poster, you've now been infected by some of the scum on here, you officially made it onto the twat list, congrats <ok>

    It's not a club, it's a list <doh>

Each person's is different, I'm hardly gonna put myself on the top of my own list. And no, before you get self important, you aren't even close to it. You have to have at least moderate intelligence to get there. You, Billy and Roger are like the little pets of my twat list. i won't say who is top of it for fear of inflating their self pride. Either way, go to bed now but get the nurse to change your incontinence pads first <ok>

That was my sole aim in life, to make it onto the twatlist, finally!

The way I see it if a team dominates the game, and the other sits back and defends well after taking the lead and doesn't concede, they deserve the win. However you took the lead, sat back and conceded, hence you did not deserve it.

Bit of a mountain out of a molehill here. It was a draw, looking at the stats that is a fair result, having watched the game i think its fair to say I wasn't expecting a goal for Sunderland near the death (as they had looked pretty toothless) but credit to them they kept plugging away and got one.

But what's all this rubbish about trying to 'get the better of the stats':

Possession 51-49, that's about as even as you can get (as a biased Newcastle fan I'd say I'm suprised Sunderland didn't have more against 10 men at home but moving on...) so no brownie points there.

Shots 22-17 in Sunderlands favour, though Newcastle had more on target (though only one more) - any idea if that includes Sunderlands goal?

Corners are pretty irrelevant though for the record 8-4 in Sunderlands favour.

Fouls show 14-15 so again very tight.

Its hard to realistically argue that either team dominated based on those stats, though I'm sure both sets of fans will continue trying...
