we are away but i want us to go there and play as if we are at home...Its a psychological plan that i would play against the top clubs.....have no fear and just play as if you are playing on home turf. keep the ball and dont try to mix it with them.....I remember cloughie use to say things like that...forget your playing away and concentrate on the ball and ignore the home fans and listen to your own fans and you can get a result....

I would settle for a good performance and not getting a hiding. A draw will be a bonus.

I think Laudrup might have a surprise for everyone , RE: formation & the 11 taking the pitch . If he tries the same stuff & players that we tried against Wigan .. it will be all over for us except the crying !!

Think we could get at least a draw from this, and maybe even win. Man City are definitely beatable.

I am not expecting too much, our defense was dodgy as soon as wigwam got that goal. Only thing that can go in our favour is if Citeh have a real battle tonight

Realy cant see us geting a point lads but you never know its on the day, I think Davis could be on the bench not strong enough to face city. if he does play we could be in for a drubbing like last yr but that was our 1st game in the prem ,lets hope he plays Moore up front to start with Dyer on the wing. pablo on the bench , I would settle for a draw lads.

Defence is the key without a doubt, im hoping Davies is on the bench for this too, ttiandelli (sp) needs to start figuring for us soon otherwise there is no point having him here, the guy has been short of fitness so its to expected he hasnt featured so much of late but it could hinder Ben if he has a mare against City, he has been growing nice and steady but needs to iron out alot of flaws..these flaws will be targeted if Mancini is any kind of coach!!

We will need a more conserative approach and protection from our wide players if we are to stand a chance, the only way we will seriously compete is if city have an off day, that tends to happen in the prem leauge so really its possible but not likely we take something from the game :)

Where there's hope there's a chance , I think we will give them a good game ,there's no pressure on us (we weren't expecting anything at QPR were we, although we're playing the League champions ) I don't expect a win but a draw is possible , they're not playing too well at the moment .I wonder if we'll see SS playing , unlikely but he has to start some time , won't he ?

SS starting could happen IMO, this will be the first game in a while where the pressure is off us, i feel that could work to our advantage, all laudrup has to say is "go out and enjoy it" and he has the quality in the team to do that and still be class, as long as we get the basics right it could be a game where the new signings sample the premier league glamour and rightly step up a notch and play fantastic :)

NJ Lauds, totally agree that was our problem area against them in the first game wasn't it? Start tiendelli and see how we go, but what I don't want to see is Dyer that far back when wigwam were pressing us it was painfull. I want to see him up the pitch pressing them back .

Remember if we hold on to the ball , which I agree we haven't been too well of late , they can't hurt us !

I'm hoping Citeh play Dzeko against Ajax tonight and keep him on the bench on Sunday. He's their top scorer this season with 6 goals, 5 coming off the bench.

Looks like Citeh, are fielding a strong first team tonight, here's hoping they get a very tough game, might then get a draw on Saturday............<cheers>

Clearly, there are quite a few on here who think Ben Davies is a liability. Personally, I think starting Tiendelli would be a bigger liability. He's only played one game to my knowledge, against Crawley. To throw him in against Man City would be risky to say the least.

Also, I still don't see what Ben Davies' crimes are in the games he's played so far. I think he will start having already got several Prem games under his belt not to mention 2 Welsh caps.

3- 1 to Ajax at the moment and not over yet with 20 minutes to go, Citeh are disjointed and playing a system which the players are not comfortable with. Either we'll suffer a back lash and they'll want to make amends or they will still be suffering Saturday and we can take advantage

This is one of 4 or 5 games where there wont be an ounce of pressure on us and we can go there and play to our ability and you never know we might just get a result...No fear is the key and hope the players remember what he said about us last season....winnable game.....of course it is....

Having 2 welsh caps doesnt really mean anything these days, Ben is a good prospect but does spend alot of time not being touch tight or "feeling " his man and sometimes gets caught out ball watching instead of following his man, this has been critical in some of the goals conceeded recently, have a look at wigans offside"goal" for a classic example.

Ben will be good for us,he is still very young and is learning, his inexperience has and will cost us hopefully we will score more at the other end, it sounds harsh but thats just my opinion and im sure Laudrup knows him alot better than me !!

No fear ben, If Rooney can do it at 16 then our Ben can do it.....a very mature player for his age and if he is good enough for other teams he has played against then he is good enough for man city...and deserves to play..

So what's your alternative and why do you think the alternative is better?

Their left , like ours is weak. Dyer to start on the right for me with pablo on the left. This will allow Routledge to come on later against the most knackered back. I believe now that he's scored Pablo will be up for this big style. Having said that, for the last couple of games all I've seen is Ash having a go at Ben Davies, for this one lets put Ben on the bench , taking the pressure off him and go with Tiendelli, an older head and more concious of making a mistake. Just my thoughts....
