Is anyone else really starting to believe that our season can be a successful one?

We've dropped points at times when we perhaps shouldn't have had (Reading and Villa), but we're hardly alone in this, other top sides have also dropped points. Plus we've not had an easy start. Man Utd, Chelsea, Spurs, Everton and a derby within our first 8 PL fixtures, plus European games within that time! And injuries! I think we've made a really good start due to the fact that we've not dropped that many points, and we've played average at best for most of our games, and still got some good results.

Most of us were concerned that Europe would be too much for us, but I think we've handled it superbly so far. Unbeaten in Europe, seeing off our toughest rivals Bordeaux comfortably, and the squad showing that they can handle the amount of games.

I personally think that if we don't get unlucky with the 2nd round draw, we can really give Europe a go, and finish in the top 6 again. I don't think we'll get too far, due to some fantastic teams that are likely to drop out of the CL into the Europa League, but I think that may work in our favour, as we can focus on the PL campaign.

I think a great season would be qualifying for Europe again and putting in a good effort in the current Europa run, as it will show to the players that this club means to go forward, and I think that this will be enough to keep most of our best players.

Anyone else think this is a very achievable and reasonable target?

 

No not at all but if we can win few games ie the next 4 I'll think that way perhaps.

What other teams are doing isn't at all in my mind as we fail to beat the poor sides and get hammered by the good ones, however I agree about the injuries we have had.

don't get me wrong we are par for the course, however a bogey with West Brom and possible double bogey away at Liverfool and were ****ed as far a europe is concerned.

 

There's no such thing as a bogey side. We hammered WBA last year at their own ground 1-3. Their home form is superb, 5 wins out of 5, but away they are poor.

 

ha ha I'm talking golf mate. A bogey is a shot over par ie we would not be par for the course anymore we would be over par.

At the same time if we win them were two under par and in the top 8 for sure.


After that is a few easy par 3's until Christmas

 

See where we are come Christmas. I don't think we will finish near the points total we did last season but to finish in the top 8 this season I don't think we will have to get near that total. We need to be beating teams like west brom on Sunday if we are to be pushing for that 6 th place so we will see.

 

They beat us last year 4-3 was it, and came back from 3 down the year before to get a point (unless my memory has served me incorrectly)? Pretty damn annoying if you ask me! Hope we wear our bogey top to put the mockers on them!

 

We lost 2-3 at home to them, but that's because we had a **** load of injuries, and we, for some reason, played a high line and only had Colo and Perch available for CB duty. In the CC we drew away and at home.

 

Yeah you're right about the 2-3. What a miserable night that was, sat next to two girls in fur coats discussing how hot the players were... Wouldn't have minded except they had the audacity to call Shola ugly and go on to list his unattractive qualities for a whole fifteen minutes... Bastards.

Yeah remember the CC, and I was correct about the 3-3 at the end of the other year as well, so they clearly quite enjoy coming up here and it could very well be a difficult game.

 

We actually drew 1-1 way and 2-2 at home. lol

Oh yeah. We went 3-0 up and conceded 3 goals in 20 mins. What a joke LMAO. That pile of **** 20 minutes cost us finishing 8th place first season up!!!

 

Yep, took DT to that one so had to buy tickets for a different area, and the only one left was Platinum club. Going from Leaze's to that was a real joke in terms of atmosphere. DT quite enjoyed the comfy seats though... Alas, she knew not the joy of standing, and never will because we aren't allowed or the stadium will collapse...

Couldn't believe we lost a 3-0 lead, defo thought we would add to the collection of maulings we handed out at SJP that year!

 

I, personally, always valued our defence an never thought we'd lose a 3-0 lead, and we did! Last day of the ****ing season as well!

I believe that if we all vibrate fast enough, there is another dimension and we can all get there.. Plus if we all sacrifice a raccoon and levitate it over a signed photo of rick astley the world will be ours...

 

If i remember correct we didnt play tiote incase he got carded, we'd have never lost a 3 goal league if tiote played when he was in his 1st season form. I hope we get that tiote back!
