If he plays tomorrow he'll have to do something fairly special to be picked again on Sunday. It's good that there's competition for places because it keeps players alert and it shows the strength of character of those not selected if they accept the coach's decisions. So far I cannot make up my mind about Ade.
Yeah its not as clear cut as just selecting our most talented players on paper, yet in the case of the Defoe/Ade situation, I am wondering if AVB rates Ade that highly, as he was slow to bring him on against Chelsea, especially when we had the upper hand and needed that 3rd goal.
i can see why he didn't bring him on,JD had scored and Aaron was causing problems for Cole, and to bring him on we would have had to go 442,which is'nt good playing a high line
No I haven't heard anything about their relationship Boss. Ade was most definitely a Harry signing last season (remember they worked together for the BBC on the 2010 WC). I honestly don't know if AVB wanted him or not.
Yeah agree with the 442, but we could have taken off siggy, moved defoe to the left and put ade upfront, instead we wait until 67th minute to bring on Livermore (who is a great lad) but really just runs about doing nothing.
I thought maybe Ade was a Levy signing (this year) as Avb didn't seem that interested in signing strikers so Levy decided to go ahead and sign Ade as the deal was too good to turn down.....could be wrong!
Good comments as usual Boss. apparently Ade has a back problem, according to Team Talk. I don't know where this leaves the situation regarding him, maybe that's why he didn't start on Saturday? Unless you're ITK you can only know what the club tells us. I'll be amazed if some people don't start spreading all sorts of rumours now. The situation isn't good that's for sure.
Ade has been told that he can't leave in January,PLEASE not another Modric type saga. What's the point of keeping a highly paid bencher? Is everybody waiting for Defoe to do his normal drying up spell thus to pave the way for Ade to come in? Lloris and Ade on the bench is a tinderbox waiting to ignite. Whilst I felt that there might be a problem between AVB and Ade I was hoping that it would be resolved asap and I hope we know something soon. Defoe up front on his own won't do it for us.
i think the Ade problem is all paper talk,he can't play as he's injured anyway.and Lloris has said there is no problems, the paper's get desperate when they can't stir up trouble at Spurs story's
If indeed Adebayor does have a back problem, then sitting on an aeroplane for a few hours will do it no good whatsoever. Personally I don't think either Defoe or Adebayor are good enough to take us to where we want to be.
What's changed your mind about Ade Original? I thought I was the only Ade dissenter on the Spurs board. I've certainly had feedback when I've dared criticize him.
I haven't changed my mind Thor, it's just that I haven't really got involved in a discussion on him before. I was appalled when we signed him because he is a mercenary and I didn't want someone with his track record at our club. He did very well for us last season, far better than I thought, but he's like Defoe, he has weaknesses and neither are likely to iron those weaknesses out of their game at this stage of their careers, hence me saying they will not take us to where we want to be.
Fair enough. I don't think he did very well at all,I'd say not bad. Seven matches without scoring and a lot of tap ins. They all count I know but he missed some headers from 3 yards out and was wasteful at times. Yes his hold up play was good mostly but at other times I considered him a bit lazy. I wouldn't be sorry to see him go as I posted many times last season provided we have a good and ready replacement or even two. You are right about Defoe.
I thought I'd spend the time cleaning my BMW 1161. Kick off in just under two hours so I think I'll go for a little Bo Peep. Wake me up then.
Ok then about Defoe PNP,let's get shot of him. I'd have to see the three missed chances but I believe the report.
