Just occasionally I get an advert playing in the background. No pictures and no sign of where it is!! I use google chrome.

I would think about it but I dont like the cases, they feel too cheap, at least the S2 did and I havent got my hands on the S3, then again the iphones glass is so bad that they cant get it out of the factory without scratching it, thats what the recent riot involving hundreds of people at their chinese factory was about.
Well im glad its not just me then. Mods could this be investigated a bit to see if it is a problem with the site? I am only getting this on my iphone 4 and not my macbook and I have tried it in both google chrome and safari on my phone with the same problem. Very very irritating.
i use chrome on my android phone but then I block all ads, even in app ones. Maybe try looking into that?
I think firefox comes with an adblocker but im not sure if you can get that or not. Everything is 100% controlled by apple so they might not even allow ad blocking.
Flyer not going to enter into an argument on this as we may be here all night however.... What line of work are you in? the reason I ask is there a fine line between being tech savy (or believing so) and actually having demonstrable experience to adequately answer such questions. That particular article is based on a myth that apple is still running the same OS, which is in fact incorrect and based on many untruths
They been using IOS since 2007, even the fanbois admit its tired and past its best apple owners usually falsely believe the device is "amazing" or "ground breaking" when they introduces something thats been around for many years on other devices. Look up the "reality distortion field". Thats was Jobs ability to brainwash people into buying without thinking just because they had to have the latest shiny thing. Anyone who knew their tech would know Apple products are inferior, especially the phones and PCs where the latter are overpriced by many hundreds of pounds.
